Finding an LGBT friendly therapist can be a difficult task. Although it is not impossible!
Counseling in the LGBT community

This week we will be talking about what makes an LGBT counselor LGBT friendly. Sometimes it can be difficult finding an LGBT counselor especially if you're not out to your parents. Although not a lot of people enjoy counseling it is in most cases extremely important to do so. As this may be their only support.

Some ways you can go on with this topic:

- Have you had a bad experience with a counselor that is NOT LGBT friendly?

- What advice do you give to those who have a counselor that is not LGBT Friendly?

- What does a LGBT counselor look like. (ex. how they act, speak etc)?

- Why is it important to have a counselor when you identify as LGBT?

- What are you views on therapists that try to "cure" LGBT individuals?
