Happy Thursday FLASHERS!

This week's FLASH is packed with love!... Could it be because Valentine's Day is this weekend and it's time to get a little sentimental? I hope you will find a few ideas in this issue that will inspire you to recreate it for your loved one/s! Not only does FLASH hope you will express your love to those you care most about, but we hope you will practice random acts of kindness too! Those acts are often the most fun! So jump on the 'Random Act FLASH' and partner with your husband, wife, significant other, child, or friend! to perform random acts of kindness in our community. If you do so, I can almost promise you a Valentine's Day you will never forget!  I saw that Hoda and Jenna Bush Hager did this for the TODAY show. That inspired me to search for other You Tube videos for 'Random Acts of Kindness'. I found a couple that I thought were worth passing along. Click Here and  Here, and I particularly like this one. We each have the ability to really make a difference in the life of others! Most of the time with very little effort, yet we get so caught up in the craziness of life that we often let time slip away; preventing us from doing the things that could matter most.

I would like to encourage all FLASHERS to perform random acts of kindness in our community! Take someone with you and video your experience. Email the video to us at verobeachflash@gmail.com by February 29th. We will post the videos on our Facebook page and FLASH will award $100 to the winning video and $50 to the video that comes in second!

Happy Valentine's Day FLASHERS! You have made my life quite full these past years and have come to mean a great deal to me! Now GO SHARE SOME LOVE .... And while you are at it...Tell your friends, co-workers and people you pass in the street about FLASH! The more the merrier and I have a special place in my heart for FLASHERS who DON'T keep us a secret! :)

Thank you~

KASHI SUNDAY MARKET
February 14th ~ 9AM-2 PM
11155 ROSELAND RD. SEBASTIAN, FL
MARGERET GERGEN KASHI SUNDAY MARKET VENDOR
Here was a woman with a room full of craft supplies hoarded for years and decades of ideas for when she had the time. So was the remarkable path towards Upcycled Junque, repurposing odds and ends into new and different must-haves. And what a wonderful bunch of must-haves they have turned out to be for Margaret Gergen! She makes chandeliers out of bread baskets and candy dishes, solar lights from every odd receptacle found and crocheted purses and rugs from plastic bags, yarn, can tabs and other materials. Talk about sustainable use which is sorely needed for the earth!

People love her colorful kitchen scrubbers which they use every day. And wait until you see her cat cave made from a PVC frame with a t-shirt wrapped around it.
Both humorous and useful, this woman is singlehandedly contributing to making sustainable items that others might foolishly toss away as waste. You will find her booth fascinating, inspiring and educational! Thank you, Margaret Gergen.  You can reach her personally at marggergen@gmail.com.

FILE PHOTO - Ronald Reagan Turns 93

With the election year in full-swing. It is nice to glance back at one of our most beloved presidents, Ronald Reagan. When he died in 2004, he had been  married to his wife Nancy  for 52 years. President Reagan wrote letters to Nancy from the time he met her in 1950 and on  throughout their years in the White House. No matter what else was going on in his life or where he was, he wrote to Nancy to express his love or just to stay in touch. In typical fashion, many of the letters show the famous Reagan wit. In 2002, Nancy Reagan published these letters in her book, "I LOVE YOU, RONNIE". Since this is our Valentine issue, it seemed appropriate that we include this link where you can read some of them for yourself. Click HERE.

HEALTH TIP
     ASK YOUR VALENTINE TO DANCE!
As we become a nation of couch potatoes, dancing was pushed aside by television, computers, texting, video games and other sedentary time guzzlers. Now...Finally, dancing is back! Dancing is an ideal blend of social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation, and just plain fun! Studies have proven that partner dancing exerts as much energy as swimming or jogging! This low-impact activity builds stamina and endurance, improves muscle tone and offers a perfect blend of isometric and isotonic resistance, all the while burning calories. Fast dancing is good cardio exercise. (Think Salsa and Swing) Slow dancing can also be good exercise and will improve posture, balance and flexibility, especially if it involves stretching moves. (Think Tango) According to the American Journal of Medicine, dancing is one of the best ways to avoid arthritis and to relieve current joint discomfort. Even line dancing offers benefits! So...Let's get up and DANCE!

USA Dance welcomes anyone and everyone and this month they are hosting the Sweetheart Ball next Thursday, February 18th at the Heritage Center from 7:00 - 10:00. The dance lesson this month is Viennese Waltz (all levels). Public charge is $10 and members $8. Check out their monthly schedule by clicking here.
