Oh No! Email Trouble 20-40 Year Old Ladies Please Resend Feedback!
|
|---|
Last week I introduced myself as an Out Boulder board member and asked for 20-40 year old women to send me ideas for activities (re-read here). If you were so awesome as to respond, please please send me your feedback again! We had technical difficulties with my special new cdodson@outboulder.org email address and unfortunately lost all your responses to the void. We're up and running now, I promise. Looking forward to hearing from you all again at cdodson@outboulder.org. And let me know how I can make it up to you! Ugh. *Face palm*

Out Boulder Meeting the Community's Needs Through Collaborations
|
|---|
Enriching the experience of those living in Boulder County is one of the ways that Out Boulder actively engages in cultivating equality, respect and well-being for all. Through collaborations, Out Boulder is able to better meet the needs of our community and this week we're proud to share with you one of our most recent collaborations with PFLAG of Boulder County, The LGBT-Latino Forum.
The Forum was born from a desire to engage Longmont's Latino, LGBT, and Allied communities in a conversation aiming to identify key issues essential for healthy community development.
Exploring the intersections of experience in the Latino and LGBTQ communities, The LGBT Latino Forum explores in its second presentation the theme, Keeping Families Together. The forum will include a panel featuring Ray Rodriguez and his mother Jennie, Mauricio Shoup, and two youth panelists, Daniel and Ollin. The forum will be moderated by locally renowned facilitator, Daniel Escalante. It is free to attend the panel and there will be light refreshments served.
Please consider joining in the conversation and engage directly in creating the foundation for a truly inclusive Boulder County. We will gather on Thursday, January 12th at 6:30 in the Meeker Room at Longmont's YMCA (9th Ave and Lashley) and we look forward to seeing you there.
For additional information please email, PFLAG at info@pflagboulder.org.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Frontrunners
|
|---|

Meet Frontrunners!
Frontrunners is a running and walking club for the GLBT community and their friends of all ages and abilities. The free run/walk in Boulder meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15am (and leaves promptly at 9:17am, a Frontrunners tradition) at the Whole Foods on Baseline and Broadway. From there, we usually split into 2-3 groups and venture off for either a beautiful trail run up into the Foothills or a (somewhat) flat run that includes part of the Boulder Creek Trail. Afterwards we have breakfast at Whole Foods. There is also a Denver run that meets on Saturday mornings. For more info, visit their site at http://www.denverfrontrunners.org/site/ or join their facebook group page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/114329205313142/.
You don't have to be in top physical condition to join Frontrunners. " When I first started running with the group early last year I was not in top condition. The members in the group were very accommodating by waiting for me at various points along the route and keeping me company along the way. By including the Sunday trail run in my training schedule, I was able to work up to racing in my first half marathon that summer. I run with several running groups around town and nothing quite compares to the camaraderie of Frontrunners. Running in the Sunday morning run is the perfect way to start my day". ~ Jen S., Out Boulder, Office Manager
And it doesn't stop at running and walking--we also have social gatherings around town and fundraisers at the Wrangler in Denver. Your next chance to join us is when Out Boulder partners with Frontrunners for Happy Hour next Thursday, January 19 at the St. Julien, 900 Walnut Street, Boulder, 5-7 pm. So come on out to learn more about the group, meet people, and have a tasty drink by the fire!
If you have questions, feel free to contact me! Jen Spolnik, Out Boulder Office Manager and Frontrunner, jspolnik@outboulder.org.

Gay & Bi Men's Literature Group: Geography of the Heart - Jan. 14th
|
|---|
Our Men's Book Club is up and running!
Our first meeting was a success, thanks to Andrew for holding space for us. We chatted a bit about different books, picked our first two, and decided on our next meeting date.
Our first book selected is Geography of the Heart, by Fenton Johnson. The book is available through Amazon from $4.00, including shipping. Our next monthly meeting will be on January 14th from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Pride House. We will discuss the book, and from there we'll venture out to do some fun socializing.
To join the group, get more literate and make some new friends is easy, simply get the book, read it, and come to our next meeting.
We encourage you to also work on acquiring the second book that we will read so you have the entire month to read it before our February Meeting. The book is titled Grief by Andrew Holleran.
If you have any questions, please email mshoup@outboulder.org
