Madison County related news:
  • Curbside recycling in the non-municipal areas of Madison County was suspended about a month ago.  Red River notified the County they would no longer be able to collect the recycles due to increased cost.  So, the Madison County Board of Supervisors advertised for proposals.  Proposals have been received and will be discussed during Monday's Board meeting. If you are interested in this important issue please attend the meeting.

  • Another issue for Monday's meeting is the proposal to establish a Regional Solid Waste Management Authority.  The purpose, associated benefits, and costs to Madison County taxpayers of this new bureaucracy are unclear. Some residents are concerned that this "authority" could result in even more garbage being hauled from outside of the County into local landfills.  See
