Tiffani Walt has been a friend for over 13 years going back to her
being on staff at our old campus leading women's ministry. She and I
joined forces several times to do retreats and she always made them THE
BEST. Tiffani is helping create this retreat September 25-27 at Arrow
Retreat Center, just 15 miles from our church. She is bringing with
her the authors of "Raising Girls" www.melissatrevathanandsissygoff.com/raisinggirls.php
Our retreat theme is "Be Blessed" and is a multi-generational event for
daughters in kindergarten through grandmothers. The weekend snapshot:
Friday evening large group - "The Blessing of Relationship"
Saturday morning breakout sessions:
* moms and grandmothers: "How to Help The Next Generation become who
God Created them to Be"
* K-4th grade girls: recreation activities
* 5th-8th grade girls breakout "Navigating the teenage Years"
* 9th and up "Discovering who you are and who God called you to be"
Saturday afternoon with arts and craft activities and lots of recreational opportunities.
Sunday morning worship together "To Be A Blessing."
Our praise and worship for the entire weekend is with Jackie Key and

 Military Families and Friends
September 14th - Lenox Parlor
Speaker: Larry Kinler - will be speaking about his experience with being deployed to Vietnam. We're looking forward to an interesting and educating meeting.

Military Families and Friends would like to thank all those that donated items for the care packages that are being sent to the deployed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, packing all the boxes we had, 75 of them, we still had items left! So, in a couple of months we'll have another packing day and send the rest off. Also, the coffee drive that Starbucks held for us yielded 108 1-lb bags of coffee! Thanks so much to Starbucks for thinking of us and the troops and for the people that took part in the coffee drive.

"Recipe For Joy"
Join us for a bi-weekly time of fellowship, networking, relaxation and prayer. Instead of a formal study, we will spend time in God's word in the form of devotion and discussion lead by various church members and staff.
