"Thank You" to Our Wonderful Teachers ~ It's Teacher Appreciation Week!St. Anastasia Catholic School loves and appreciates our teachers all year-round, but this week we are honoring them as it is Teacher Appreciation Week! To celebrate how special our teachers are, students, parents and administration alike have expressed their gratitude in several ways...and the surprises keep coming! The PTO organized "Teacher Apples" in which students and parents could purchase the apples for their teacher's classroom door and write a special message for them. The apples cost $1 each and the proceeds go back to the teacher for classroom expenses. (There is still time to get your "apples," download the form on our website at www.stanna.org.) The PTO also organized 15-minute mini-massages for the teachers. Administration provided an ice cream social after school on Monday and gave the teachers and staff a "free jeans day" on Tuesday. Wednesday, the teachers were treated to soup for lunch because "They are SOUPER!" Dr. Hoeffner and Mrs. Richmond have each worked after-school duties for the teachers this week as well. The Student Government collected flowers on Monday and delivered one-of-a-kind, eclectic bouquets to each teacher and teacher assistant. Later this week, the Student Government will be washing cars for the teachers too! On Friday, the teachers will be provided a luncheon in their honor before their afternoon in-service. Many other little "acts of gratitude" have taken place this week as parents and students have offered up their THANKS to their special teachers! Thank you, teachers and teacher assistants, we appreciate all you do for St. Anastasia Catholic School! Pictured from top: Fourth Grade Teacher Mrs. Odom displays her lovely flowers she received from her students on Monday. She is pictured with Jackie Thybulle, Ben Rider, Camilo Plata and Carly Bush. Pre-K Assistant Mary Maule relaxes during her mini-massage. Orla McQuaid expresses her gratitude and love for her teacher, Mrs. Capezza, on a "Teacher Apple."

Spring Scholastic Book Fair
| Mark Your Calendars...AGAIN! Spring into books! Scholastic Book Fair is May 9-14
Mark your calendars for May 9th through May 14th and get ready to have some fun! Our Book Fair is always very popular with students and adults alike. We will again be getting Scholastic's top-of-the-line book fair which means lots of titles in both hardback and soft back; hands-on science activities and games to challenge the mind; and a table of great books and activities for the preschool crowd. Of course, we will also have posters, pencils, erasers, calendars, diaries, journals, book sets, software, toys, games, science stuff, and we hope to have some value packs too.
Having our Book Fair during the spring season encourages everyone to think about purchasing books for summer reading. While there are some required reading titles, be sure to encourage your students to choose from titles that interest them for pleasure reading. Encourage and make time for this very important activity.
In addition, adult books will be available -- so plan to come and spend some time shopping for yourself, your friends and the other adults in your life. Reading allows our imaginations to soar and provides a thrilling ride for the mind.
Thank you in advance for your continued support, Mrs. Camber and the library staff
