For existing 102 machines, W+D now offers an upgrade that includes the LogiComm verification system. In a recent News Release, W+D and Nordson announced this new project pointing out that the LogiComm system is modular in design and can be ordered or upgraded at a later date with a pattern control adhesive extrusion system.  Because no cull gate is available on the 102 machine type, there are two options to identify defective envelopes; a programmable kicker or an ink spraying system.  Either method will alert the operator to remove the defective product at the delivery table.
 
The verification system is a real-time quality assurance system that identifies the following defects: window presence, window placement, side seam adhesive, seal flap adhesive, paper splices and film splices.  For added flexibility, the system can be installed or upgraded at a later date with an extrusion system for the side seam gum application.  Set-up and operation are simple with a graphic touch screen interface.
