Youth Science Day at the Minnesota Science Museum
| | Al-Amal School 5th grader, Asha Hassan, took part in the first Youth Science Day at the Minnesota Science Museum on July 12, 2012. She presented her project about the human brain and its superiority over other species. Her presentation can be accessed at the following link . This budding scientist impressed the audience with her poise and confidence. Her activity book was the most popular among her peers.
Asha's mentor and teacher, Sr. Sagirah Ali, played a key role in her participation at this event. Al-Amal School students had a terrific 2011-2012 school year that saw them winning a large number of awards at various science fair competitions including the Minnesota State Finals.

Testimonial from Heather Kamia, Director of Volunteer Resources at the Science Museum of Minnesota:
"I wanted to tell you all how wonderfully your Al-Amal student, Asha Hassan, performed at our first annual Youth Science Day. Youth were invited to evaluate their favorite activities on the way out and Asha's activity took first place among her peers. If this is any indication of Al-Amal's strong STEM capabilities, we certainly hope that you will encourage more young people to participate next year.
Meanwhile, please extend our thanks to Asha and her family. Her parents and teachers are to be congratulated on her poise, knowledge and volunteerism."
Congratulations Asha! |
