Well, it is official: The 2012 UPAF Campaign has launched and is off to a fabulous start! Last month's Kickoff at the Harley-Davidson Museum set the momentum with more than 225 guests enjoying great entertainment, personal stories, delectable food and a high dose of fun. Campaign Co-Chairs Carlene Ziegler and David Lubar led the unveiling of this year's goal of $10 million. See photos of the event here. With your support, we will be celebrating success at the UPAF Finale on June 26.

If you haven't already done so, mark your calendar for Sunday, June 3, so you don't miss UPAF Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite. Remember, this is your big chance to "Ride the Hoan." Help us reach our 2012 goals of raising $515,000 and recruiting 7,300 riders by picking your route and registering today

If you are interested in volunteering, we still need help with both pre-event logistics and day-of-the-Ride activities. For details and to sign up, visit the Ride's website.

And speaking of donating time and talent, UPAF's annual volunteer reception, hosted by MillerCoors, is set for Wednesday, May 23, at the Miller Inn. We look forward to personally thanking our much-needed volunteers for their commitment to the performing arts.

Although artist Shelby Keefe's time with the Pfister has come to a close, you can still take one (or more) of her "16 Paintings in 16 Days" artwork home. Shelby's collection creatively uses visual arts to depict UPAF's dynamic Member Groups. Each of the 16 oil paintings accentuates the depth and diversity of performing arts available in our region.

I Art, a social media campaign, is still going strong on UPAF's Facebook page. This project celebrates all facets of creativity, including music, dance and theater, by allowing individuals to define "art" through their own images. The goal is to have 450 photos - 10 for every year UPAF has been in existence - by June 26. So, pause a moment, take a look around for what you view as art, capture it in a photo and post it on our Facebook page.

UPAF is pleased to introduce two new team members who collectively bring more than 25 years of work experience. Joining our team are Leigh Lane-Peine as Chief Marketing Officer and Vanessa Nerbun as Senior Director of Development.  Leigh and Vanessa's broad talent and deep expertise are tremendous assets to UPAF as we strive to not only meet, but exceed this year's goal!

Sincerely,

Deanna Tillisch

UPAF President & CEO
