Black Women and Breast Cancer Conference 2010
MBCC was greatly honored last week with an award from the Boston Public Health Commission's Center for Health Equity and Social Justice's REACH Coalition for their week on breast cancer disparities. MBCC, along with the REACH Coalition and other community partners, has produced the Black Women and Breast Cancer conference for 3 years and they have collaborated on many projects including the development of BC disparities and model training curriculum as well as legislative advocacy. Though white women have a higher incidence of BC, black women are 27% more likely to die from it and are more likely to be diagnosed at later stages of the disease.
STAY TUNED DURING OCTOBER! Pink Ribbon
Throughout the month of October, while products, newspapers and more are awash in pink suggesting that you support  generalized "breast cancer awareness", MBCC will instead be arming you with substantive information and actions to move beyond awareness to make real change towards ending the breast cancer epidemic.  Please keep an eye out for our weekly emails, including this year's Think Before You Pink Campaign, click to take actions and forward the email to friends and family so that together we can PREVENT BREAST CANCER BEFORE IT STARTS!
