                                 QANTAS B747 PASSENGERS TO GET A380 EXPERIENCE

 

Qantas is underway on extensive refurbishments on the interiors of nine Qantas Boeing 747-400 aircraft with the installation of start-of-the-art Airbus A380 style seats and in-flight entertainment units. The quarter of a billion dollar investment is part of the first phase of the Qantas Group's five-year plan to build a modern, customer-focused and competitive global airline business. 

Each of the aircraft will be fitted with 364 seats: 58 Business, 36 Premium Economy and 270 Economy. The seats in all three cabins have won awards for their design and comfort. Other new features include: Panasonic on-demand in-flight entertainment in every seat with over 1500 entertainment options, and a self-service snack bar in economy.

The first Boeing 747 will commence services between Brisbane and Los Angeles in October operating three return services per week. Qantas will have a fleet of 14 A380s and 9 reconfigured B747 aircraft by the end of next year.

Hilton Hotel and Resorts has officially opened the AUD$700 million dollar Hilton Surfers Paradise complex on Queensland's Gold Coast.

Emirates have added its 29th destination in Europe; with the 9th January 2012 debut of daily three-class A330-200 services from Dubai to Dublin. Emirates will once again offer services to Ireland after the demise of its previous codeshare flights in partnership with Aer Lingus. 

QANTAS WAIVER CONDITIONS FOR CANCELLATION OF SERVICES TO BUENOS AIRES

Effective 24th March 2012 Qantas will cease operations to Buenos Aires, Argentina and then effective Monday 26th March commence flights to Santiago, Chile.

If you hold a valid Qantas ticket issued on/before 22 August 2011 for travel to/from Buenos Aires, who wish to make changes to your booking for travel on/after 26th March 2012, please see below the following waiver conditions:

Passengers may, without fee:

• REBOOK to alternative Qantas Flights (including Codeshare flights operated by Lan Chile)
• RE-ROUTE TRAVEL via the most direct routing using Qantas
• CHANGE DESTINATIONS using the value of the existing ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket. If the new fare is more expensive than the existing ticketed fare, the difference is payable, applicable taxes may apply.
• RETAIN THE VALUE OF THE TICKET IN CREDIT for future travel within 12 months from the original ticketed date of departure. If the new fare is more expensive than the existing ticketed fare, the difference is payable, applicable taxes may apply
• REFUNDS will be offered where travel has not commenced for original ticketed dates on/after 26th March 2012

Un-ticketed Bookings

For un-ticketed bookings, flights can be re-booked subject to availability and tickets issued in accordance with fare conditions.

Refunds:

• Refunds may be offered up to the 7th October 2011 without fee for Qantas tickets issued on/before 22nd August where original ticketed travel dates were on/after 26th March 2012
• This excludes fees imposed by third parties

Frequent Flyer Redemption Tickets

Passengers travelling on Qantas and Qantas codeshare operated by Jetstar redemption tickets are entitled to the same options and conditions as listed above. Passengers on partner airline services are able to re-book or re-route subject to redemption seat availability only.
