Message from the Chair

We really had a great picnic last weekend. Please see our Party News for our long list of thank yous. It seemed like our elected officials and the crowd finally sensed the end of the last election cycle and the promises of the next.

The fallout from last year's elections is all too apparent with Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler's gross misunderstanding of the duties of his elected office. From the callous post -election suggestion to represent the public while working at his private law offices, to the recent attempt to help pay the fines that his office is responsible for imposing and collecting, this recently elected Republican is a great example of what has gone wrong. And this elected official is coming to Larimer County to demonstrate his willful disregard for fair elections, just in case you haven't smelled the graphic nature of the problem yet.

Please read the letter I sent yesterday to help us dismantle this parade of unethical Republican elected officials and their unsavory legacy of bad public policy. Click here to make a difference in Larimer County.

--William Russell

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Annual Picnic last Saturday.
We want to personally thank Senator Bob Bacon, Representative Randy Fischer and Representative John Kefalas for helping us welcome Senators Brandon Shaffer and Morgan Carroll to the 2011 Larimer County Democrats Annual Picnic. These people make me want to find something to contribute every day.

What inspires these elected officials are the contributions of all the people who came out for our annual picnic last Saturday, the hours donated by the volunteer organizers, and the year in, year out contributions of all our Larimer County Democratic volunteers.

The Fundraising Events Committee is chaired by the indefatigable Nancy Tellez. Special thanks to Jill Sanford, Martha Coleman, Joan Dooley, Anne Wilseck, Aaron Hirose, Patsy Morris and Kristin Stephens for their pre-event work. The day of the event Nathan Morimitsu, Wiley WcCallum, AJ Feldman, Debbie Morgan, Bridget McDonell, Stan Ulrich, Lou Anderson, Kristina Bulik-Hocum, Martha, Anne, Aaron, Kristin and The Blue Ribbon Commission, showed up and threw down with their usual enthusiasm.

Thank you, great work!

Thank you, Dian Sparling, for all of your generous gifts.

The Fall Fellowship is a 12-week organizing program running from early September through December 3rd. Applications are being accepted and processed on a rolling basis until the program is full, but the program is filling up quickly so apply now!
