One of my more recent joys is teaching 63 college students at Arizona State University the importance of philanthropy. Specifically what it is, how we can all support it and how best to provide opportunities to match resources with basic human needs.
Understanding the value of giving back must not stop with us. Our responsibility extends to educating tomorrow's donors and volunteers as well. I applaud you, parents and grandparents, who involve your children and family members when supporting others through A New Leaf (or ANY non-profit agency) with your time and financial support. Your modeling behavior is extremely motivating and encourages others to join in and do the same.
