Grace to you and Peace...
|
Dear Resurrection Family,
Something FISHY is happening on September 9 at Resurrection.
We call it RALLY SUNDAY.
The FUN begins at 9:45 am...and includes the ENTIRE FAMILY.
So what exactly is...Rally Sunday? This is the day when the Christian Education Team (CET) takes charge of the narthex...and everyone is invited to come and see what is being offered in the realm of Christian education classes including Bible studies, Women's Groups, Men's Groups, Confirmation, Youth, and children in Sunday school (also known as The Master's Net)...just to name a few. We begin by previewing and signing up for the various classes this Sunday (September 9) knowing that all studies will have begun in full force by Sunday, September 16. Read More!

Update on Support for Goldie and family... |
From RLC folks we already have in hand several gift cards, cash donations, $400 for half the security deposit and some offers of furniture.
Rosner Toyota has found a vehicle that they can provide free of charge for Goldie. So that's one major obstacle down.
The other is still housing, but we're working on that and there are a few options open. One is with the Central VA Housing Coalition and another is looking at getting a place together with a cousin. When an apartment is secured, we will send out info on what furniture is needed.
The folks at her job seem to really be understanding about her situation and they are being flexible.
She still has a long way to go, but all that we've been able to do together seems to really be helping. Most of all, the prayers from all have been just what she's needed.
Thanks for all the prayers, ideas and support via donations!
To make a donation, please contact Pastor Jim, Pastor Carol, or Coston Cheatham. You may also give on-line to our Emergency Outreach Fund.

RALLY SUNDAY...September 9th
|
On Sunday the 9th, the Christian Education Team will be providing the Coffee Hour between the services...along with displays hi-lighting opportunities available in Christian education for folks ranging from age 2 through 102. We want you to be turned on...by what you see and hear...in hopes that your signing up for a class...a study...a small group...even a book study...will be just what you need in order to get your feet wet when it comes to studying God's Word.
Parents: expect the kids to engage in creating "something fishy"! Please take note of some mouth-watering goodies...energy food for the task-at-hand, as you check out the opportunities being offered for the Fall. One final note: stop by the Christian Education Team's display of fishing nets...and once you (or a member of your family) have signed up for a class, small group, or study...place a fish (with that person's name on it) in one of the nets!
What could be better...than the prospect of being a "Resurrection fish"...caught up in the Master's Net? "Nothing...absolutely nothing"...(to quote a song from the 70's)...can compare.
Consider yourself invited to Rally Sunday...this Sunday...and come...be a part of the FUN. God speed!
