Message from Pastors...

Dear Resurrection Family,

We have a family in great need.  They arrived in Fredericksburg with only a suitcase.  Goldie and her 12 year-old daughter and 4 year-old son are staying temporarily with a friend.  She has no money, but did start  a part-time job as a waitress this past Monday.  Goldie was in the Resurrection youth group as a teenager.  Coston Cheatham and I are cooperating in organizing help for Goldie.  Folks at his church, Living Word,  are doing what they can to help.  We need gift cards to stores such as Walmart and Target and cash to help with a security deposit.  Soon we will need furniture for an apartment.  The apartment needs to be in the Garrisonville part of Stafford County, since that is where work and school is. If you have a lead on a car or housing, you may contact me.

In Christ's Love,

Pastor Jim

News from the RLC Mission Endowment Fund Board
ESave the Dates!  Between services on October 7th and October 14th, Attorney George Snead will be conducting a two-part series on the importance of having a will.  We're talking about that document that you leave behind when you pass away.  You know, the one that is current, clear, and expresses your desires for your survivors.  Don't think you need one?  This workshop is for you. Don't know how to go about revising your existing will? This workshop is for you. Don't know where to start?  This workshop is for you.  Plan ahead.  Mark your calendars and learn how to make peace with that gnawing guilt about your nonexistent or out-of-date will. Call Judy Thompson at 540.972.3757, or email her at:  judithathompson@gmail.com if you have any questions.

luther"...Faith is God's work in us, that changes us and gives new birth from God (John 1:13)... Yes, it is a living, creative, active and powerful thing, this faith. Faith cannot help doing good works constantly. It doesn't stop to ask if good works ought to be done, but before anyone asks, it already has done them and continues to do them without ceasing."
