An Impressive End to a Division Winning Season for the Titans Track Team

At the 3A State Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet, many Titans stepped up delivering strong performances.  Senior Anna Ucheomumu qualified in four events:  placing 11th in the 100m dash, 9th in the Shot Put, 4th in the Discus, and 2nd in the Triple Jump, earning a silver medal.  The girls 4x800m relay of juniors Eyvonnka Rizkallah and Susy Molina, sophomore Lauren Logan, and freshman Halcyon Ruskin placed 14th

On the boys side, sophomore Nobel Mussie finished 11th in the High Jump.  Senior thrower Rene Molinari finished 13th in the Discus and won a bronze medal in the Shot Put with a 3rd place finish.  The boys 4x800m relay team of juniors Ben Withbroe, Nick Simpson, Ryan Henderson, and Ryan Merrell finished in sixth place.  Withbroe came back to finish 8th in the 800m run.  Ryan Merrell finished 14th in the open 400m run.

The meet was capped by a heat winning, 4th place overall finish, 4x400m relay.  The team of Nobel Mussie, Ryan Henderson, Ryan Merrell, and senior Elijah Thomas broke the school record running a time of 3:26.31.  Their time takes .79 off the record set in 1981 by Hall of Famers Bern Altman, Brad Hanson, David Mills, and Mike Scott.

An impressive end to a division winning season for the Titans.

AEHS Athletic Hall Fame

2012 Scholarship Program

At the May 14th HOF Golf Tournament and again at the May 21st AEHS Awards Night, the AEHS Athletic Hall of Fame awarded eight (8) college scholarships to graduating student-athletes at Einstein. This was the fifth consecutive year the HOF has been able to make scholarship awards to deserving AEHS students. When the HOF was created in 2006, the desire of the Founders and the inaugural induction class was to provide financial support to athletic programs at Einstein as well as to graduating student-athletes to assist them in their post-secondary education and training. Including this year's awards, the HOF has now awarded over $115,000 in scholarships to Titan athletes. This year, as a result of the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we were able to expand our scholarship program by adding five (5) new scholarships, including the William Druhan Memorial Award for the outstanding female and male soccer players; the Titan Award for Women; the Titan Award for Men; and the Joseph Monte Continuing Support Award. These awards are in addition to the Kit Pardee Award for the outstanding female athlete and the Jack Keller Legacy Award to the outstanding male athlete, which the HOF established upon inception.

The Pardee, Keller and Druhan awards are one-time awards of various amounts up to $2,500 each. The Titan Awards are four-year awards that can total up to $40,000 each, and are renewed each year so long as the recipient meets the standards set by the HOF. The Monte Award is made to a former HOF scholarship recipient that is in need of continued assistance in their educational endeavors. In addition, the HOF Board of Directors voted to approve a special one-year only Titan Award this year to help Rene Molinari in his freshman year at Lehigh University until his football scholarship takes full effect in his second year. This special award brings the 2012 total to eight awards.

5th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

2012 Golf
The 5th annual AEHSHOF Scholarship Golf Tournament and Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at
on May 14th, 2012. A little rain did not dampen the spirits of the over 50 golfers who participated in this year's event.

For the second year in a row, the tournament was won by a team headed by Al Offenbacher.

Many thanks again to all the golfers, patrons and volunteers who made this event possible. Without the support of all these individuals, the Hall of Fame would not be able to offer our athletic scholarships. Funds raised at the event will also allow the HOF to support other athletic programs at AEHS.
