The Hall of Fame (HOF) has added a new monthly feature dedicated to providing news and information about AEHS alumni. Fred Shelley, class of 1970, who has started his own alumni news letter, has agreed to work with the HOF to better leverage his efforts in reaching out to a wider audience of Titan alumni.

"It's a perfect fit" said Fred Shelley in a meeting with members of the HOF to discuss the feasibility of joining forces. "The HOF has done great work since its inception in the fall of 2006" said Shelley. "The scholarship awards, and enhancements to the athletic department by providing both financial support, and former athlete HOF members giving back to the school as coaches, is something I want to be a part of."

The new section to the Titan Hall News will be known as the "Nucleus Alumni News." Drawing its name from the long time and current school paper
Pace Bradshaw
Alumni Golf Outing
providing students with news and information seemed to be a good name choice since the goals are the same. Fred will be responsible for coordinating alumni content and information.

We invite all alumni to write a short statement about what is going on in your life-place of residence, occupation, family, children and grandchildren, activities, special interests, and other information. Please e-mail this information in a return e-mail, or as a Word or text file, to Fred at fshelley@ou.edu. Also, we would welcome recent photographs of you, your family, and fellow AEHS alumni. Please e-mail these photographs as .jpg or .gif files.

Class of '69 Reunion
Coupled with this effort, the HOF will step up its efforts in providing "Turn-key Reunion Services." The HOF will contact all former class presidents letting him or her know that these services are available.

The class of 1969 utilized the HOF reunion package for its fortieth reunion and it was a real success said Pat Berbakos. Nothing had been planned for a 1969 40th class reunion so the idea of leveraging off the HOF induction ceremony weekend seemed to make perfect sense. With less than two months before the HOF induction ceremony weekend, four class of '69
Reunion Big Tent
Reunion Under Big Tent
alumni met and talked with class president Don Fredrick about having a reunion and it was on. The only effort required of the '69 alumni was to start the process of contacting other alumni and letting them know there was going to be 40th reunion! That was basically it. The HOF took care of all the particulars. Everyone from the class of '69 had a wonderful time.

Hall of Famers Pat Flanagan, Patti Gilmore, Pat Berbakos and Larry Sheridan are still busy in their respective sports. Einstein is well represented out there in the county and Einstein is grateful to have two of its HOF members back on the same field where they stood out during their prep careers.

Patti (Langworthy) Gilmore's

Blake High Bengals Girls Basketball Team

went 13-9 and 10-0 in their division during the 2010-2011 regular season to win the 2A/3A East Division. They advanced through to the regional tournament before losing in the quarterfinals. Last year she took her team to the regional final to further cement their reputation as one of the dominant teams in the county. Blake has made three state semifinal appearances and 2 state final appearances in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Congratulations to Patti!

Pat Flanagan continues with her domination of the Montgomery County

Softball 4A East Division with her Girls Softball Team off to a quick start this season. At this writing, they had already clinched the division title for the 6th time in the last seven seasons. After falling in the state finals last season, they are currently 9-0 and looking forward to another deep run. Her team features only one senior so the future looks very good. She has led them to the finals in both 2008 and they were state semi finalists in both 2007 and 2009. Pat and her Lady Warriors were profiled in the April 4th edition of the Washington Post and the HOF wishes her luck in her pursuit of the State Championship!

Pat Berbakos is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for the varsity Baseball team at Einstein. In addition to his duties as assistant coach, Pat has been spending his retirement conducting off season workouts for the players and working with the school administration at both Newport and Einstein to increase participation. He has also initiated a few needed field improvement and equipment upgrades.

Larry Sheridan has taken over at Einstein as the new

Varsity Baseball coach. He came back to Einstein as an assistant with the JV in 2008 and then took the reins as JV Head Coach last year before his promotion to Varsity this season. Both Larry and Pat believe that given time, they can improve the Titans fortunes on the diamond. The HOF wishes both Larry and Pat the best in their rebuilding program.

Malcolm Wilson
Malcolm Wilson

Founders member Malcolm Wilson is still active with the Einstein wrestling program and is currently running an off season training program once a week for both prospective and current wrestlers. He, too, is working with both the Newport and Einstein administration as well as aiding Coaches Hill and Baez in increasing both visibility and participation.

Still involved or active in your community? Let us know so we can keep your fellow HOF members posted on your efforts! Contact Malcolm Wilson at  malcolmw@mjpw.com with details.

Bill was very aprecative of his being inducted into the first AEHS Hall of Fame class and showed it by his financial contributions as well as attending all functions of the Hall.  Bill exhibited an example we can all try to live up to, he was dedicated to the mission of the Hall of Fame and was always willing to serve and offer his support when time permitted.
