Carol Parsons Rethmel '71 completed a master's degree in Administration from George Mason University. Carol is Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator and Choral Music Director for the Prince William County, Virginia Public Schools.
Jim Ward '70 has backpacked more than half of the Appalachian Trail. He has about 900 miles to go for completion. He recently did most of the New York segment of the trail and has hiked from the southern tip of the Smoky Mountains almost to the border in Connecticut. He writes "I am a sectional backpacker and I try to get on the trail twice doing 50 to 90 mile treks." His older son, Zak, got married to Stephenie on May 14, 2011 and is living in North Carolina. His younger son, Josh, is working as his assistant in his business at AdPrint Solutions, LLC.
The Albert Einstein High School Athletic Hall of Fame has posted pictures of its fourth annual scholarship golf tournament on its website at www.aehshof.com . Following the tournament, the Kit Pardee Scholarship was presented to Jordan Solomon and the Jack Keller Legacy Award Scholarship was presented to Jorge Villatoro. Jordan was a four-year member of the AEHS soccer team and will attend the University of Colorado. Jorge was a four-year member of the AEHS wrestling team and will attend Montgomery College. Congratulations, Jordan and Jorge! This year's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on November 4, 2011
We are pleased to announce also that this newsletter will be partnering with the Hall of Fame's newsletter and website, coordinating release dates and giving people associated with both groups the opportunity to learn about one another's events and achievements.
Lily A. Clark, R.I.P.:Lily A. Clark, the mother of Chris Clark Stone '71, passed away June 18 in Middletown, Maryland. In addition to Chris, she is survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Condolences to the Clark family.
