PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I can't believe that we are half way through 2011 and are about to meet for our third chapter program. It has made me very happy to see so many of our members engage in our chapter and step up to volunteer. In April, we had a great group gather for roundtable topics. There was a very positive energy about the room as attendees were able to participate in discussions about current industry issues. This format allowed us to uncover subjects that we might want to offer with more detail at Education Day. Plans are starting to fall into place for another great Education Day on Friday, September 16 at the Millennium Broadway. I am looking forward to our June Program where PCMA Best in Class Speaker, Sue Hershkowitz-Coore, CSP will share her thoughts on moving from success to significance. This is a topic I hope many of you find appealing. Her high-energy personality and engaging delivery is always thought provoking and inspiring. I hope to see many of you there! Thank you to all of our members who volunteer their time; and, for those of you who are looking to connect, please consider volunteering. Our chapter's success depends on our members getting involved and telling us what you want and need. It's not too late to sign up for a committee. We are constantly looking for input from our members regarding program ideas, and with Education Day on the horizon, we welcome input. Please send us any ideas you have on future program topics to new.york.area.chapter@pcma.org. Looking forward to seeing you on June 14th,
Amanda Ciarlone President, NYPCMA Director of National Accounts Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau

What People Want ... Integrating Surveys In Your Event Management Strategy Molly A. Martinez, Ph.D. Executive Director, Ticket Summit As meeting planners, it's our job to stay in tune with what people want. Do folks prefer morning or afternoon sessions? Do most people prefer buffet set-up or a plated meal? What are the preferred dates for the following meeting? There is a wide range of valuable planning information that can be gathered through attendee survey data. However, it doesn't have to stop there! Read More ... |
President's Volunteer of the Quarter
Amber Levy
Director North and Southeast Region Hotel Sales LA INC. - The Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau
This quarter, I'd like to take the opportunity to recognize and applaud Amber Levy for the great job she does in her role as Director of Membership. There is a lot of hard work that goes into keeping our membership data up-to-date and Amber does a fantastic job leading the charge to maintain and grow our membership. This year, Amber has organized a great committee and raises her hand quite often when there are tasks that need to be completed. June is a big month for the membership committee because it's the time when most of our members are up for renewal, and Amber and her team spend a lot of time reaching out to remind them to renew. Thank you Amber for your commitment and dedication to our membership!
