The Little Horn of Daniel 8
                A Future Super Antichrist
The popular futurist interpretation of the little horn of Daniel 8 is that
it  was  fulfilled  in part  by   Antiochus Epiphanes  who was a type of
"The Antichrist" who is to appear in the midst of Daniel's 70th week.

                                   Antiochus Epiphanies

A Type of the End Time Antichrist

The career  of  Antiochus Epiphanes  accords  so  closely with the

predicitions  in Daniel 8 that many expositors   believe that he was

the subject of this  prophecy. Futurists believe  that in addition to

partially fulfilling  the predictions of the little horn that he is a type

of a future antichrist to appear in the midst  of Daniel's 70th week.

Preterists insist  he fulfilled  the prophecy  of Daniel 8:9 completely

and look for no future fulfillment. Historicist's scoff at the idea that

there is a gap  in Daniel's 70  weeks  prophecy  at all. They believe

the 70 weeks was fulfilled completely in AD 34.

The Two Little Horns of Daniel

                             Are They Really the Same?

In the futurist  scheme, the little horn of 8  and the little horn of 7

must   signify  the  same   prophetic  character.   This  presents a

problem. The little horn of chapter 7 arose  from  the  ten horns of

the  western  Roman Empire  whereas  the  little horn of chapter 8

arose from the four horns of Alexander's divided empire in the east.

And there are a dozen other reasons why the little horn in Daniel 8

cannot be the little horn of Daniel 7. See the two compared.

                                         Laodicean Blindness

                                  A Galaxy of False Prophets

Futurism  is  the old Jesuit counter-interpretation that was revived

in 1830.  Few expositors taught  it prior to 1900. But the Laodicean

church age was to be lukewarm and blind. (Rev 3:18)

Today's TV prophets and  the  wildly  popular  Left Behind  fictional

series   have   effectively  drowned  out  the  few  expositors  who

have any discernment in this generation.

The two great enemies  of the cross, the Zionists and the Jesuits,

work hand  in hand  from  behind  the scenes to enable the galaxy

of slick false prophets that keep this interpretation popular.
