The Main Street - Broad Street project has come to an end for the winter season just in time for all your holiday shopping! 



Our new "3/50 Project" has recently begun, every time you make a purchase at a locally owned business pick up a 3/50 card and have the merchant or business owner initial it.  When you have 3 "initials"  drop the top section in one of our raffle boxes in town.  There will be two raffles, one held on Dec. 21st, and the second on March 31st.  Both raffles  will be for a grand prize of a basket full of merchandise from local merchants and an iPod nano.


The 3/50 Project is a project whose purpose is to save local economies.

3 "Think about which three independently owned businesses you'd miss the most if they were gone.  Stop in and say hello.  Pick up a little something that will make someone smile.  Your contribution is what keeps those businesses around."

50 If half the employed U.S. population spent $50 each month in indepentently owned businesses, their purchases would generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue.  Imagine the positive impact if 3/4 of the employed population did that.

68  For every $100 spent in independently owned businesses, $68 returns to the local economy through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays here.  Spend it online and nothing comes home.

The Second Annual Dickens Day
 Village Stroll

Westfield restaurants cook up a feast with olde English breakfasts, Dickens Days dinners and specials.  In the shops there are Dickens Days sales and promotions everywhere!

Follow the stroll map and visit the downtown participating merchants and be entered into our raffle drawing for  a $100 WBID gift certificate to be used at any participating BID member business!
7th Annual Fezziwig Faire

The 2010 Fezziwig Faire, sponsored by Westfield on Weekends, Inc., The Westfield Business Improvement District, and the YMCA of Greater Westfield, Inc. will be held on Saturday, December 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the YMCA at 67 Court Street.


This exceptional craft fair will feature over 50 craftspeople who will offer their unique wares during the ever-popular Westfield Dickens Days.  A large variety of items will be available for holiday giving or for the home, including knit and crocheted items, hand made greeting cards, bird houses, hand-woven shawls, chocolates, home made fudge, organic pet treats, Americana, American Girl doll clothes and accessories, doll furniture, walking canes, black squirrel items, soups and dips, jams and preserves, jewelry, hand painted glassware, and much, much more.


Admission is free and the doors open at 9:00 a.m.  The YMCA Leaders Club will be selling lunches and offering gift wrapping services.  The gymnastics club will have a bake table.

Come enjoy a day of festivity, holiday music and unique gifts.  Free parking is available in the lots behind the YMCA, off King Street.  Crafters will be set up in the Y's general purpose room and the gymnasium.

Heads and Hands Portrait Class


A great class for beginners who would like to learn to draw portraits using both a live model as well as photographs. Emphasing the basics in a fun, no pressure class. This class is also a great refresher course for intermediate students who would like to to take advantage of a live model. Media will be pencil or china markers on artists paper or newsprint.

Please bring your drawing pad and pencils to the first class.
