Focus On:  Constructability And Design-Build
CartoonThe application of construction knowledge and  experience into the design process achieves better designed structures. The design-build project delivery method involves all disciplines, designers and builders so that coordination and cooperation happen from the very start of a project.

Collaboration with architects, contractors, product suppliers and all other consultants must be done early in the planning and design phase to identify problems and find solutions related to framing, detailing, fabrication, erection, camber, and tolerances. These solutions can then be carefully incorporated into the construction documents.

Designing construction friendly structures leads to faster approvals, shortened schedules and ultimately reduced construction costs, even for the most challenging projects. Consequently, projects will be completed on time and on or under budget.

Our structural engineers have extensive experience in contractability issues and the design-build process. The completed project featured below is one recent example.
Featured Project: Gold's Gym Centennial Village
Gold's Gym recently opened a new facility in North Las Vegas, NV. The new gym features an open free-weight exercise area, lap pool and spa, sauna, cardio theater, basketball court, and a retail pro shop. THOMAD Engineering designed the concrete tilt-up panel exterior walls and their connection to roof and floor diaphragms, and provided construction support services through the structure's completion.
