Dear Friends,
Another year has almost come and gone, and we see firsthand how hard our members work all year. So we hope you will join us-and reward yourself- at a festive event with your friends and colleagues before the year ends. One of the priorities our current president, Dan Black, established this year was to offer more social events for our members to celebrate the profession and network outside of the typical everyday setting.
As such, we are very excited to invite you all to our First Annual Winter Reception. This event will take place at the spectacular US Botanic Garden Conservatory on December 1st. Having been to an evening event in this exclusive venue before, I can tell you it is a unique experience to ascend the Jungle Room catwalk beneath the stars and to have the opportunity to enjoy all the wonderful exhibits-including the amazing Holiday Train Room-without throngs of tourists squeezing past you.
It is going to be a night to remember, but space is limited so be sure to secure your tickets today . This event is open to GWSCPA members and guests, so tell a friend.
See you then,
Kari

Though they haven't been around that long, they've already been hard at work preparing some great and unique CPE Offerings through their Committee Meetings. In addition to the Small Business Jobs Act Q&A on November 18, they've also got events coming up on topics such as: IRS Tax Update, International Tax Issues for Expatriots in the winter and a Tax Season Debrief and Tri-State Tax Panel in the Spring. The Tax Committee has hit the ground running, and their meetings are sure to be full of information everyone can use.

Businesses have access to enhanced credit, lower fees, income exclusions and increased deductions. CPAs can learn more from the AICPA Business Brief, Short Term Provisions of the Small Business Jobs Act and on the AICPA Small Business Relief website. (Via AICPA)
IRS Increases Limits of Long-Term-Care DeductiblesThe Internal Revenue Service has increased the deductibility limits for long-term-care insurance policies purchased in 2011.
