Welcome to the June edition of our newsletter. This month we have details of business opportunities in Sports Stadia, BRE's consultation on the revisions to SAP and details of free sources of market research.

Sports Events mean Business Opportunities
Here in Britain, particularly in the South East, we have seen great opportunities created by the 2012 Olympics construction programme. There is a tendency to see this is as a one-off opportunity, but there are similar sports events being organised all over the world - Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Football World Cup, Cricket World Cup and Winter Olympics to name a few. Even at the bid preparation stage countries are spending millions on improvements to their infrastructure.
 
UK Trade & Investment have identified this as a major opportunity. They have a dedicated team following project progress and are keen to help UK companies to become involved. Last week they ran a seminar in conjunction with CIMCIG highlighting these opportunities. Email me if you would like a copy of the presentation.
What's New in Housing
Housing BRE are inviting comments on their proposed changes to SAP, which is due to be re-issued in 2010. Visit the BRE web site to see the proposed changes, or make comments (closing date 12th August 2009).
The Homes & Communities Agency's Monthly Housing Bulleting for May is now available for download. This useful document summarises what has been happening in the housing market.
Another useful document is Housebuilder Watch from Competitive Advantage. You can read a summary of the report published by Construction News last week, or learn more about the report on our web site.
