Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to stay cool when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now and then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Sell that Old Phone

Last month we found our phones; this month we'll sell them. I was shocked by how easy it was to sell an old smartphone on BuyMyTronics. Look up your item, accept their offer if you like it (the convenience was worth the few extra bucks I might've made elsewhere), drop it off for shipping or have it picked up, & wait for your cash.

DON'T

Don't Complete that Task
I know I'm usually saying, "Task-completion is an important organizing skill," and it is. But sometimes it's okay to leave something half-done (cleaning the kitchen) in order to get back to your larger goal (writing the newsletter). CAVEAT: you must go directly to the larger goal, & you must decide when you'll come back to the task!
GET

Get Un-Labeled
My current favorite low-tech, cheap-&-easy labeling tool is an old-fashioned china marker (aka wax or grease pencil) for glass & plastic containers, especially in the kitchen. Food storage containers proclaim their contents & dates to all, & after you've enjoyed those contents, just wipe the label off. What will they think of next?
GIVE

Give Suits and a Fresh Start
I have lots of clients who have fled the corporate world & are eager to part with their closet of suits -- and would love to know they're helping someone change his life for the better. Whatever your reason, take unneeded and gently-used suits, shirts, etc. to any Men's Warehouse throughout July for their National Suit Drive.
UPDATE

Organize Your Summer
