WGC AM 2011Women's Giving Circle Annual Meeting March 7, 2011 "Voices of Empowerment":

WGC 2010 Highlights were distributed at our Annual Meeting. We invite you to review an online version of WGC's latest report to donors and a historical perspective of the grants, activities and programs of the WGC since our inception in 2002.STEM 2011

 

Girl Power: STEM--Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics:  

WGC supported the GIRL POWER: STEM 2011 event at John's Hopkins APL in the Maple Lawn area on March 6, 2011. There were 500+ attendess, 40 presenters, hands-on fun -- a huge success for women and girls in Howard County!

Family Communication Night: Mean Girls:   

Expert Deborah West offers the keys to understanding Queen Bees, Gamma Girls, and surviving the female social hierarchy to teens and parents.  For girls ages 11-14 with an adult.  Registration required via www.hclibrary.org or by calling the noted phone number.  Co-sponsored by the Women's Giving Circle and the Horizon Councils.    

Second night: Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 pm (Elkridge Library at 410- 313-5088)

Journey 2011 Applications

Journey 10 attendees

Journey 2011 is accepting applications now! WGCJourneyFlier Journey 2011 will operate from June 26 - July 2, 2011 at Washington College and will serve 25 Howard County girls entering 8th - 9th grades in the fall of 2011.  Applications for Journey may be obtained from the WGC's website. Financial assistance is available.  The deadline for applications is March 31, 2011.

One past Journey attendee remarked "It helped me see my role as a young woman in Howard County and MD, and influenced me to join the Young Women's Giving Circle."
