Greetings!
I'm currently in Peru just finishing up a photo assignment for the humanitarian organization, Freedom From Hunger, and will, of course, do a little scouting for my tours in Peru while I'm here. This will be my 3rd assignment for Freedom, it is always exciting and inspiring to work for them: http://www.freedomfromhunger.org
Meanwhile Karl has just finished his popular Myanmar tour. This trip is always sold out, check our listing below for future offerings. He has been in Asia for months already, having led his Philippines tour and Angkor Photo Workshop, as well as scouting for his Nepal/Bhutan trip and new destinations in Myanmar for a second itinerary there. On top of all that, he always manages to fit in photo assignments for humanitarian groups.
Ralph is just finishing up one of his own trips in Spain, then will have a quick turn-around and lead our trip in Mexico's Copper Canyon in October. We have more in the works, but details will have to wait until the next newsletter. Cheers, Jim |

Featured Tour:
Guatemala and the Living Maya
Guatemala has much to offer the travel photographer. From Antigua, with it's cobblestone streets and beautiful architecture, to the highland villages of Chichicastenango and Quetzaltenango with their native peoples, markets and ancient rituals, to the natural beauty of Lake Atitlan surrounded by its three towering volcanoes - Guatemala has something for everyone.
Here are some testimonials from previous trips:
"...the trip was much, much better than we had initially expected. The combination of your knowing the people, good hotels, good meals all, contributed to a very nice photo trip."
"I am very happy with the pictures I brought home. Overall I think my photographs from Guatemala are better than all other trips I have taken, except maybe Kenya, where the wild animals are spectacular."
"The mini lectures were very helpful and aimed just right since there are people of different ability levels on your tours. The individual attention is even more valuable though. I learned several things this time that helped me to get better photos."
This year's trip will be from February 1st through 11th, 2013. For more information and to reserve your spot, click here.

Peru - Machu Picchu & the
Sacred Valley of the Incas
May 8 - 18, 2013 with Jim Cline - ONLY 3 SPACES LEFT!
Long before the Europeans showed up in America the Incas had established a great civilization in and around the Sacred Valley of Peru. Many reminders of this world still remain - in the ancient ruins at such sites as Machu Picchu, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo, and in the local people and their traditions. In addition to these more traditional sites, we'll visit various towns on market days which will provide numerous photo opportunities to photograph the modern day Inca and their old world traditions. No doubt you'll come away from this trip with the experience of a lifetime and great photos of a wide variety of incredible subjects. The Philippines
June 2 - 16, 2013, with Karl Grobl
The Philippines is a great place to escape the multitudes who descend upon other parts of Southeast Asia. It boasts a fantastic landscape including its amazing Rice Terraces (called by many the 8th Wonder of The World), colonial architecture and even palm-fringed, white-sand beaches on a scale and beauty that one might have expected to find in Hawaii decades ago. Beyond the scenic beauty, you'll find it's the Filipinos themselves who make the country such a joy to visit. Photo friendly and full of smiles, the people open themselves and their lives to visitors on a scale only matched by places like India and Myanmar.

"Jim went above and beyond what is expected from a leader. I knew he was special just from the many emails he sent before the trip. He is truly a professional. Because of his connections I probably got to see more than most people do when they visit for the Day of the Dead. There were many magical moments on this trip...I would recommend every trip that Jim leads."
