Greetings from San Diego!
Spring is upon us. Karl is in Vietnam, finishing up the last of three tours in that region. Next up for him is the Philippines and Angkor Photo Workshops this summer (see information below). Meanwhile, I'm keeping busy here in San Diego helping Kat get our upcoming trips going while preparing to move into a new home and attending my kid's baseball games. We're working on some new trip offerings for 2013, so keep an eye on our newsletters in the next month or so for the details.

Featured Tour: The Angkor Photo Workshops - coming this summer!
Karl will be hosting The Angkor Photo Workshops July 16-30, 2012. Space is still available for this unique tour/workshop. The testimonial below, from one of our 2011 participants, does a nice job of summing up the experience.
"Thanks Karl, whilst your normal photo tours are exceptional, this workshop, working in such a rich area of the World was without exception the most rewarding photographic experience possible. It was like the fog lifting when the principals of what elements to shoot, and how to piece them together were explained, now I can create stories rather than just showing a muddle of images."
Andrew Eio, Buckinghamshire, UK

This trip is a personal favorite - this will be my 14th straight year photographing in Oaxaca during the Day of the Dead celebrations!!! Many other companies have now jumped on the bandwagon, bringing large groups, but I have a more intimate knowledge of this amazing celebration, and now how to find the action and chase the light there like no one else - and I keep my group size small. We'll be photographing the parties in several village cemeteries, as well as colorful parades, spectacular colonial architecture, Zapotec pyramids, indigenous markets, traditional dance performances, and the daily life of Oaxaca. To see a gallery of Jim's images from the 2011 tour click here. We have had several people attend this trip, who liked it so much they came back on it again another year. Click here for more information and to reserve your spot. November 10 - 19, 2012, with Jim ClineTrip full, waitlist available I will be leading this trip again to my favorite area in Mexico. We'll photograph Mayan pyramids, the current day descendents of the Mayans with their weaving traditions, turquoise rivers and wildlife (hopefully crocodiles), waterfalls, and the beautiful colonial city of San Cristobal de las Casas.

Testimonial from Feb 2011 Thailand, Laos & Cambodia trip:
"I have been on several organized photo tours and workshops - this was by far the best experience I have had in terms of flow of activities, shooting time balanced with "tour" stuff, attention from/time with/assistance and overall organization of the trip. Karl's passion for photography and interaction with the local people - many of whom he clearly knows from his work there and from prior trips. I feel very fortunate to have had this experience and look forward to future trips with Jim and Karl."
