 A little news from the Diamondback (actually pretty BIG news) ...
Yes, we have some exciting news to share with you this month. The Diamondback is opening a new downtown location! The Downtown Diamondback will be located in the Park Building at the corner of Cherry and First Streets starting in mid-March. Right now we're painting, tiling, working on our menu and just getting ready. The Downtown Diamondback will offer healthy soups & salads, signature sandwiches, a daily Diamondback luncheon entree and homemade desserts. The Downtown Diamondback will also be available and eager to provide virtually anything you might need in terms of in-office or off-premise business catering. So we'll hope you'll join us for lunch and help spread the great news. Lots going on in March!  Winter, we are just plain sick of you and it's time for some fun. Luckily, it's going to be action-packed around the DB this month, and we hope you'll just head on over.
Carolina vs. Duke First up is the big game -- Carolina vs. Duke this Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 pm. Duke fans, Carolina fans and people who really don't care who wins are all invited to join us for a great night of basketball. Please note: fighting, hair pulling and pinching other guests, particularly those dressed in dark blue or light blue is not permitted at the Diamondback.
Fat Tuesday
Next, we'll have our Fat Tuesday party for Make-A-Wish on Tuesday, March 8 starting around 6:30 pm. We'll be eating spicy food, drinking Hurricanes and trying to find the plastic baby in the King Cake so we can have a year of good luck!  Running with Beer
Next we'll be having our St. Patty's Day Celebration, which will be the Leprechaun Run with Fleet Feet on Thursday, March 17 -- Race starts and ends at the Diamondback. Start time: 6:00 pm. Afterwards, we'll have our party for all the runners, leprechauns and supporters featuring beer, Irish whiskey and great food. (Richard Smiley of Smiley-Fitness by Design is helping us come up with some healthy new entrees as well!) This run is for EVERYONE. You can choose a 1 or 3 mile course. March Madness Begins! We wait all year for March and it's one of our favorite times. Join us for the ACC and NCAA Tournaments and we'll see who comes out on top.

Join us for the Regional Semi-finals of the NCAA Tournament and enjoy a night filled with basketball and really good oysters.

Mardi Gras Make-A-Wish Party
Fat Tuesday, March 8
Bar opens: 5:00 pm Dinner service begins at 5:30 pm Join us for FAT TUESDAY and a grand homage to New Orleans. We'll have a cajun-inspired menu, free beads and coins, King Cake, Hurricanes and more. Find the baby in the King Cake and you'll be lucky the whole year. It's also a good night to come and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation because every year we donate money from the dinner to give to Make-A-Wish. Fleet Feet Leprechaun Run (Starts and Ends at the Diamondback)
Thursday, March 17 at 6:00 pm
Join the Fleet Feet staff for their Annual Leprechaun Run! And this year the run will start and finish at the Diamondback. This special run will feature a cameo visit from Winston-Salem's leprechauns (they only come out one day per year)!
* Stay after the run for door prizes ... you might even win a drink or an appetizer
* 1- and 3-mile routes available with party stops along the course!
* Be sure to pick up your commemorative St. Patty's Day technical shirt complete with an Irish proverb! ("Some days you're the dog ... some days you're the hydrant.")

DB's Annual Bracket Competition

March 14 - We'll be sending out brackets via e-mail and we'll also have them on hand at the bar at the DB. This is the day to fill out your bracket and get ready to win big.
