Greetings!
this ju st in...
9 o'clock at night before the gig tomorrow at Costello's...email interruptus... a good one this time... I was just about to hit the send button on this newsletter when this email came in from a young mother who's been coming to the happy hour singalong all this summer and brought us the most exquisite flowers at the last gig from her garden, babes in arms and a hug that holds you forever for making a singing place this summer. Michelle sent this email five minutes ago - we're still laughing... ok, here we go... . . . . . .
Hey you two, Thanks again for one last night of singing, and we were thrilled to walk out of there with another CD (Amae chose the Puddletown one). I thought you'd want to know that I have yet to hear anything on it but track #1, "Old Bullfrog" because my 2yo LOVES it so much I haven't been able to convince him there might be more to enjoy on there. I'll give you his exact words... (from the backseat of the car, kind of yelling): "Mama I do zike zat fwog song SO MUTCH! Pway zat fwog song again! And again. And again! Mama I do not want you to stop pwayin' zat fwog song. It talk 'bout the river. I do zike the river too!!!!!" We really have a lot of fun with your music. Enjoy your journey... Warmly, Michelle ...and now back to what we were going to tell you in the first place...
Hi everybody,
We are happy to say we found wheels for our upcoming national Ukalaliens tour. It's perfect! We can live in it and still park in NYC!
Thank you to the fine people who have been encouraging us with sponsorship and donations. Every dollar helps and will go toward paying for the rig, food, gas and postage stamps for letters home! You are a significant reason we are heading out there harmonizing communities across the USA. Thank you!
If any of you are looking for a VW Westfalia, we have a honey we have loved driving the last few years and "Nellybelle" needs a new home. Good price, great rig. Available for purchase 9/21. We leave 9/22.
Now we just need tenants to share our digs. Good Portland bungalow... Reach us at 503.331.1994 or folks@qualityfolk.com. Good fireplace...
We have a donation button on our website. You can also write us at folks@qualityfolk.com. This is an adventure of the highest order and YOU are invited to get on the bus! We'll keep you updated with blogs and enews, pictures, music and postcards from the road. Thanks for helping us share our music with our neighbors around the country.
Our final Happy Hour Singalong at the Airplay this Tuesday was pure magic. The place was packed and people sang their hearts out with us. We were moved to misty more than once. If you would like to keep the tradition going (How Can I Keep From Singing?), you'll be happy to know that Rose and Rebecca will host a Singalong while we're gone. You can find out more by rose@rosabode.com or call 503-493-9391.

We are rapidly knitting our social network with the help of friends, our website, Facebook, myspace, Twitter, telephone, emails and old-fashioned letters. Connecting with you helps us connect with new friends. Thank you for helping to "pass us forward" to the rest of the country. Here's a map of our tour so far. Confirmed dates are on the website calendar and dozens are pending. Let your people know if we're coming to their neighborhood and we'll share what we do here with you out there with them. Harmonizing community takes a village & Portland is the greatest village in the country! It will be hard to leave but we'll be back!
Thanks for being in our lives. You give us hope, faith and a lot of love. -k&s
