| Dear ,
Congratulations to all faculty members of engineering institutions on another successful year! For the Quanser team, 2010 was busy with new developments that help educators prepare future engineers and innovators. We want to keep that momentum going by sharing news you can use:
If you teach controls, we can help you prepare for the upcoming year: request a complimentary copy of the new Control Systems Engineering textbook and assess it for your course.
We wish you all the best for 2011 and thank you for your support.

Roadtrip Diaries Engineering Lab Feels Like Science Center
|
Engineering lab does not have to be a small space stuffed with workbenches, equipment and cables. At the University of Colorado at Boulder, the Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Lab offers an environment as exciting as a science center - while serving the needs of several engineering departments. During a recent visit to the university, Leor Grebler, one of our Academic Solutions Advisors toured this impressive facility. What makes this university's engineering lab attractive to students? Why does faculty like it? We took notes.

Advanced Teaching and Research Tools Stateflow Helps Design UAV Mission Controller |
Building a fully autonomous controller for advanced systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, requires careful planning and design of complex operating modes sequences. The MathWorks's Stateflow blockset within MATLAB makes the design process much easier. QUARC supports the Stateflow blockset that enables automatic code generation. Our engineers see many possibilities for using Stateflow in applications including simulations, 3D visualization, vision-based tracking and haptic systems, just to name a few.

Most Inspirational Story for 2010 How Good is a Denso Robot at Ping Pong? |
To keep educators and researchers abreast of technical advances, our engineers post inspirational stories on the Quanser Engineering Blog. Then we track which stories about cutting-edge projects might inspire our readers worldwide. In 2010, many of you were curious how the 6 DOF Denso robot learned to play ping pong. With QUARC real-time control software, we made it happen.
