Dear Reader

To wrap up 2009, we re-visited our eNEWS archives, Blog posts and YouTube channel. This issue brings together the three stories our readers around the world favored the most:

  1. Feature Story of the Year: Cornell University
  2. Blog of the Year: Unmanned Vehicle Systems
  3. Video of the Year: Hapticaly-Driven Hexapod

Enjoy the recap of this year's success stories and stay tuned for the January newsletter to find out what Quanser will innovate in 2010. Until then, have a safe and happy holiday.

Sincerely,
Zuzana Fabusova, eNEWS Editor
QuaRCFeature Story of the Year
Shaking Things Up for Cornell's Freshmen
Cornell University Customer StoryFirst semester civil engineering freshmen are often overloaded with a lot of theory, abstract math and physics. In the lab of Professor Ingraffea at Cornell University they get a little break - and some real-life experience with earthquake engineering. Read this year's most popular feature story and learn how Quanser's Shake Table II helps attract and motivate engineering students.
TeachingBlog of the Year
Bringing UVS Research Indoors

Quanser UVS Research and DevelopmentNo surprise to our engineers that a blog related to unmanned vehicles was the most popular in 2009. After all, Quanser's Qball-X4, and Qbot are meeting the demand for affordable and safe research tools. Quanser's engineers have been developing these unmanned systems for many years. Read more about our R&D journey.

ResearchVideo of the Year
Hexapod + Haptics =Driving Simulator

Quanser's HexapodThe most watched video on our YouTube channel shows Quanser's Hexapod simulating what you'd feel when driving on bumpy terrain. Quanser's engineers simply married capabilities enabled by Quanser's haptic tools with the Hexapod - the 6 DOF motion platform developed as a collaborative research project with Professor Krovi from the State University of New York in Buffalo.
