Dear Reader

In just a few weeks the univeristy lecture halls and labs will fill with students again. Most of you, their professors, are already back at work preparing new courses the aspiring engineers need to master. Just remember, Quanser provides complete curriculum to save you time. So you can focus on what you love to do most.

If you are thinking about bringing new experiments to your contol lab, consulting with our engineers may be a good start. Join our webinar series to learn about the latest control experiments and platforms for teaching and research.

Budget constraints still restrict many educators when it comes to lab upgrades. Consider the Virtual Plant Simulation and let your students put theory into action without hardware-in-the-loop components.

Quanser engineers are busy enhancing teaching and research tools for the fall. Read more about new features being released with QuaRC 2.0, real-time control software. Or find about our plans to use the KUKA for teleoperation applications.

Enjoy the August issue of our eNEWS as you get ready for the new academic year!

Sincerely,
Zuzana Fabusova, eNEWS Editor

Ready to Fly in No Time

Quanser's Comprehensive Curriculum Visiting NI Week 2009 earlier in August, our engineers noticed how excited the professors are about the comprehensive curriculum that comes with Quanser NI Engineering Trainers and the majority of Quanser plants for teaching. Read more about the curriculum for Vertical Take-Off and Landing Trainer (VTOL) and learn how you can start flying the VTOL while saving time on course curriculum development.

Wow Students with Virtual Simulation

Active Suspension Virtual Plant SimulationLook at Quanser experiments from a different perspective. Visualization tools within QuaRC® control software allow you to run a real-time virtual simulation of the device in parallel to the actual controller commanding the plant. The Virtual Plant Simulation (VPS) may be used independently to examine the designed controller on a graphical and accurate simulation. Plus you can implement the real-time control algorithm without any need for hardware-in-the-loop components.

New Engineering Toy

Teleoperation System ApplicationQuanser's engineering team is pretty excited about their latest acquisition - two KUKA robots that arrived recently. Capable of everything from loading, unloading, packing to soldering, these compact industrial robots are used whenever precise handling of delicate components is needed and when space is tight, making it a great fit for a teleoperation system applications. Follow our blog for ongoing KUKA Robot updates. Subscribe  to an RSS feed for automatic notification.
In Your Own Words

University of Waterloo Logo
"What I really like about the Quanser products is that it's very seamless - students can work in very sophisticated environments like Matlab/Simulink and a lot of the coding and writing drivers is all done for them, so they can really focus on the important control aspects."

Dr. David Wang, University of Waterloo, Canada
