Friends of Junior Achievement
The great mission of Junior Achievement is shared among the business community, educators and volunteers - all working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach their potential. As we focus on youth, economic and education development through hands-on, experiential programs, it is important for us to remember how each of us is critical in supporting our mission. Gratitude is a very important part of that.
First and foremost, I would like to thank all of our incredible volunteers for the amount of time, commitment and passion they share with our organizations and the children in Brown County. Through their tireless support, JA in Brown County impacts 11,000 K-12th graders in over 500 classrooms this year.
With that said, I look forward to the Volunteer Appreciation and Recognition Social on March 10th, being hosted by Green Bay Superintendent Greg Maass. I look forward to meeting our volunteers. If you haven't already RSVP'd there is still time; click here to join us.
Thank you, all of you, for your continued involvement with Junior Achievement.

Greetings from Jennifer Maier
Program Manager, JA in Brown County Office.
Hi. My name is Jennifer Maier. I am the new Program Manager for JA in Brown County. I am excited to be a part of JA because of the impact it has on our children's future. To be a part of an organization whose goal is to educate children about the economy - locally and globally - is very inspiring to me.
A little bit about me: I have been married to my husband, Michael, for 10 years. We have 2 children - Adalee (7) and Brett (5). We have been living in Green Bay for the last 5 years; prior to that we resided in Dallas, TX. Yes, I do miss the heat and the shopping, but I also love the snow and all of the outdoor activities it brings. I have had the opportunity to stay home with our children for the last 7 years. Prior to staying home, I worked for Kohl's Department stores in Dallas TX, and continued to work for Kohl's part-time after Adalee was born.
I look forward to working with you all and making a positive difference.

Thank you Sean Ryan, Cellcom Marathon Director, for sharing our job opening with Jennifer.
We are VERY excited to have her on our team.

Jason Berken Pitches a Gem for JA
On January 12, over 260 fans and supporters packed the Meyer Theater to enjoy a special evening with local baseball phenom and current Major League Baseball player Jason Berken. After an energizing highlight reel of strikeouts and double plays to kick off the event, Berken sat down with Burke Griffin to discuss his journey from the fields of West DePere to the stadiums of professional baseball.Throughout the evening, Berken delighted the audience with his humorous and heartfelt stories of his early days of baseball, being part of team, and the unbound excitement of his very first day in the Majors. However, even with his natural talents and abilities, he stressed the importance of setting goals and having confidence in the passions you pursue. The evening was also highlighted by a marvelous rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" by student Andrew Jones as well as a few surprise visits by Berken's former coaches and mentors. This event's success was attributable not only to our local hero Jason Berken and our event sponsors, but the collaboration of several other great organizations in our community:De Pere Knights of Columbus, Green Bay Boys and Girls Club, transportation by Lamers Bus Lines, and a promotion by the Green Bay Bullfrogs. With the help of our sponsors and attendees, JA in Brown County was able to raise $17,200 from this event. Thanks also goes out to our two board members, Chris Vanderheyden and Cora Haltauferheid, who led this event and were able to pull a fantastic evening together in a short amount of time. Visit our Facebook page for more pictures and news. Read just a few of the thank you cards and comments received:
