Help us meet our matching grant goal and raise $10k by December 31, 2010 to help the dogs still in town pounds!
2010 proved to be a very active year for us. As we near the end of the year, PoundHounds finds itself in dire need of funds to continue its mission to help dogs in town pounds. We received many requests from Animal Control Officers to help dogs needing significant medical treatment. PoundHounds was able to respond rapidly to all requests, but without your help, we will soon have to start turning away requests due to lack of funds.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by year end. To help us achieve our goal, we are thrilled to announce that a generous donor has offered us a matching grant. That means every dollar you send will be doubled! Please remember, your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Every dollar you give will make a remarkable difference in the lives of the dogs in town pounds. Dogs like Juanita, Max, and Houdini and so many more. As always, we thank you for your generosity - whether you give financially or donate time to help us. We couldn't help the dogs in town pounds without YOUR help.
There's still time to donate so please click here and help us meet our goal. Thank you!
Warmest regards,
Seana Dowling

Completing PoundHounds Fund Request Forms When completing spay/neuter and medical fund request paperwork, please do your best to fill in all fields of the form. Receiving complete information on the forms is important to PoundHounds because it helps us track trends, and we need that to apply for grants. Additionally, we strongly request that you submit all of the forms and invoices from the veterinarian within 5 days of the exam and/or procedure so we can process payment to the veterinarians as quickly as possible.

Happy Tails
Houdini, a lovable senior dog, found himself at the Taunton Dog pound. He quickly became the sweetheart of the shelter staff with his big, sad eyes and his calm and caring demeanor.
Thanks to your generous donations to PoundHounds, Houdini didn't have to sleep on a cold, concrete floor while he waited for a home. Instead, he slept in comfort on a Kuranda Bed, donated earlier this year to the Taunton shelter through the PoundHounds Kuranda Bed Program.
Fortunately for Houdini, it wasn't too long before his new owners came to the shelter and fell in love with him.
The thoughtful staff at the Taunton shelter sent us along these wonderful photos of Houdini, including getting in the car to go to his forever home.

About MAC Spay/Neuter License Plates
The Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) disburses grants to non-profit humane organizations and municipal animal control agencies. The grants are funded by the sale of the Massachusetts Spay/Neuter License Plate Program. MAC has provided funds for PoundHounds to pay for spay/neuter procedures for PoundHounds sponsored dogs. In 2009, funding from MAC allowed PoundHounds to spay or neuter 50 dogs in 18 different town pounds across Massachusetts. Those procedures represent $7,500 in MAC support. Please show your dedication to animals and help control over-population. Register your new car or swap your existing plates for spay/neuter plates. The additional cost for special plates is $40 with every registration renewal. The first time, $12 covers the cost of making the plate and the remaining $28 goes to the program. At subsequent renewals, the entire $40 funds spay/neuter services. The standard registration charged by the registry to all drivers is $50 every two years, making the total for special plate holders $90. |
