THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO

*  Herman Cain said he would be willing to take a lie detector test. But that's kind of a double-edged sword. If he fails, his career is over. And if he passes and it turns out he's not a liar, he's obviously not cut out for politics.

*  A new poll taken abroad found that President Obama's policies are more popular overseas than they are here in America. That's because he's created more jobs overseas than here in America.

*  The White House says there is no evidence at all that earth has been visited by aliens. Do you believe that? We can't even find aliens sneaking across the border.

*  According to a new poll, 42 percent of Americans say they are uncomfortable with the idea of having a Mormon president. When asked why, the people said, "We're still getting used to having a Muslim president."

LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN

*  Conrad Murray was charged with manslaughter, they got him on that. Also, reusing rubber gloves. And tongue depressors.

*  A giant asteroid is rocketing toward the earth. This only happens like once in a century. It's so rare it's like a guilty verdict from a Los Angeles Jury.

*  They sentenced Lindsay Lohan to prison for 30 days, and she did five hours. I just pray that she can make it on the outside now.

*  On the bright side, just a few more mug shots and Lindsay will have enough for a calendar.

*  A 1,300-foot wide rock just missed the earth and not a single one of us even looked up from our cell phones to see it. We only care about flying objects when they're angry birds.

* The asteroid missed the earth, fortunately, but the president had Bruce Willis, Michael Bay, and Aerosmith standing by just in case.

*  Nancy Grace was brutally eliminated from the dancing competition and she's not going to rest until she finds out who did it. But at least now Nancy can go back to doing what she does best, which is not dancing.

by Adam McManus

Over the course of my 20-year career as a radio talk show host, I've met and interviewed a lot of fascinating people.  Many of them are household names which you would recognize instantly.

Tom Snyder, the 46-year-old owner of the regional Colonial Life Insurance office here in Garden Ridge, has got to be one of the most intriguing people I've met in a long time.  He's not famous.  He's not a political leader.  And he hasn't even written a book.

But he's spearheading a unique Christian ministry in our own backyard whose vision is as big as the Texas sky.

trinity oaks tom and boy shooting
Tom Snyder, founder of Trinity Oaks, teaches a young boy on a Youth Hunt.
If you would like to volunteer to be a guide, call 210.447.351.

Now that he has become a successful businessman, Tom, a member of River City Community Church here in San Antonio, has a passion to give back to the community - especially to the children in demonstrable, life-changing ways.

That's why he founded Trinity Oaks, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  At the heart of the ministry are the youth hunts for 10 to 16-year-olds.  Throughout their time, the young people experience firearms safety instruction, target shooting and actual big game hunting.

In the process, Tom wants to give the tweens and teens access to the great outdoors, to build their character, and to teach them the importance of responsibility in our narcissistic culture.

trinity oaks david's bear and kids 13-year-old David Defrees poses in front of the bear he killed on a Trinity Oaks Youth Hunt
in Canada with his father, other kids and  volunteer hunting guides on September 3, 2011.

"Our goal with youth is three-fold.  First, we want to teach kids that hunting is not just about 'killing animals', but also about building relationships and enjoying God's majestic outdoors.  Second, we want to promote our country's hunting heritage to future generations," said Tom Snyder.

"Third and most importantly, we want to show children of all ages that they have value and let them know there are people who care about them, people willing to listen to them and mentor them.  We have found you can really reach a child and make a difference in his life just by sitting next to a campfire and listening to what he has to say."

During the 2010/2011 hunting season alone, Tom personally acted as the lead field guide for every one of the 20 youth hunts attended by 85 young people, 53 of whom were first-time hunters.  Typically, each hunt is comprised of 3-5 youngsters along with their fathers and some volunteer guides. Each youth is assigned to an adult.

Their goal for the upcoming 2011/2012 hunting season is to have 30 youth hunts attended by 100 kids and 75 first-time children hunters.

Amazingly, Trinity Oaks covers every single expense including the cost of transportation, the lease of the land, the hunting license fees as well as the food, lodging and the mounting of the child's wildgame trophy.

All the meat is processed for free by volunteers, ground up and frozen into family packs.  It's then distributed to needy families and homeless shelters throughout San Antonio as well as orphanages in Mexico.

ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY:

1.  If you would like to suggest a boy or girl between the ages of 10 and 16 to participate in a future Trinity Oaks youth hunt, please call 210.447.0351, and tell them you are a McManus subscriber, or email.

2.  If you would like to volunteer to become a guide or firearms trainer for some of the youth hunts, please call 210.447.0351 and tell them you are a McManus subscriber or e-mail.

3.  If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to Trinity Oaks to ensure that the Youth Hunts and Wounded Warrior Hunts continue, donate on-line here.

The cost of sending one underprivileged kid on a Christian Youth Hunt is $1,200.  And now, thanks to the generosity of one sponsor, anything that you give up to $100,000 will be doubled.

So, if you give $150 today, your donation will be doubled to $300 and fund one-quarter of the $1,200 cost for one kid to participate in this life-changing ministry.

If you give $300 today, your donation will be doubled to $600 and fund one-half of the $1,200 cost for one kid to participate in this life-changing ministry.

You can also make a tax-deductible donation by check made out to "Trinity Oaks." Send it to: Tom Snyder, Trinity Oaks, 9385 Miller Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78266. (Write "McManus newsletter" in the memo)

TEN SAN ANTONIO BREAKFAST FAVORITES THAT WAKE UP THE TASTE BUDS

glazed donuts

Where: Original Donut Shop, 3307 Fredericksburg Road, 210-734-5661

Why we love it: The glazed doughnuts are simplicity at its finest. Starting with a just-sweet-enough glaze, they have just the right amount of sweetness and a soft but not mushy crumb. When they're freshly fried, glazed and rested, they're something truly incredible. The apple fritters are even better. They have a slightly cake-like interior studded with cooked apple pieces, and the combination of crust and glaze gives it almost a crunchy texture. Be aware: This place takes only cash.

Cost: Doughnuts: 85 cents each; $6.75/dozen. Apple fritters: $1.59 each.

THE SAN ANTONIO CITY COUNCIL APPROVED LIVE-IN LOVER BENEFITS DESPITE A HUGE CHRISTIAN OUTCRY AGAINST THE IMMORAL POLICY

Our city leaders turned a deaf ear.

On Thursday, September 15th, after the San Antonio City Council listened to three hours of last-minute testimony between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon - the majority of which urged them to vote against medical benefits for the live-in lovers of city employees, they voted 7-4 to approve domestic partner benefits.

OBAMA CALLS OFF 'CHRISTMAS TREE TAX'

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is going to delay implementation and revisit a proposed new 15 cent fee on fresh-cut Christmas trees,  sources tell ABC News. The fee, requested by the National Christmas Tree Association in 2009, was first announced in the Federal Registry yesterday and has generated criticism of President Obama from conservative media outlets.

The well-trafficked Drudge Report is leading with the story, linking to a blog by David Addington, a former top aide to then-Vice President David Addington, at the conservative Heritage Foundation assailing the president thus: "The economy is barely growing and nine percent of the American people have no jobs. Is a new tax on Christmas trees the best President Obama can do? And, by the way, the American Christmas tree has a great image that doesn't need any help from the government."

CAIN ACCUSER FILED SIMILAR COMPLAINT AT NEXT JOB

The more we discover about alleged harassment "victim" Karen Kraushaar, the less credible she appears to be.  For a woman who accuses Herman Cain of being a "serial denier," it sure seems like she might be a serial complainer.  ABC News reports:

Karen Kraushaar, who settled a sexual harassment complaint against Republican presidential frontrunner Herman Cain in 1999, filed a different complaint at her next job four years later, accusing a manager of sending out a sexually suggestive email and asking to be allowed to work at home after a car accident. Kraushaar made the complaint, which did not involve a claim of sexual harassment, while working at the Immigration and Naturalization Service in 2003. Her lawyer was Joel Bennett, the same lawyer who had handled her harassment complaint against Herman Cain at the National Restaurant Association.

JOBLESS & SHAMELESS GAL GOING FOR GOLD

Gold diggers -- unite!

Sharon Bialek is 50, out of work and, according to one who knows her, she's a smooth operator living way above her means. From the look of her heavily painted face, she's also soon to be in acute need of a new tub of eyeliner.

Enter Herman Cain.

Bialek pranced into the Friars Club yesterday with lawyer -- who else? -- Gloria Allred aboard patent-leather do-me pumps. She proceeded to spill a dirty little secret she claims to have harbored these last 14 years -- presidential front-runner and fellow Republican Herman Cain made a pass at my junk!

'SHE'S A COMPLETE GOLD DIGGER': MURKY PAST OF HERMAN CAIN ACCUSER STARTS TO EMERGE

A 'gold digger' embroiled in legal and financial difficulties who has always lived above her station and will do anything to never have to work again.

This is the portrait that has started to emerge of the fourth woman to accuse Herman Cain of sexual harassment - the first to come out publicly.

Though her lawyer Gloria Allred painted a respectable and prestigious education and employment history for Sharon Bialek, 50, just a day later it has been revealed that she has not held a job for more than two years and has filed for bankruptcy twice.

cain accuser

The 50-year-old is a single mother and suburban homemaker who lives in a large five bedroom house with her fiance - who said he first heard about the 'shocking' allegations on Friday.

Mark Harwood, who has been dating the 50-year-old for several years after meeting online, said he will stand by his fiancée and believes coming out publicly was a 'gutsy' thing to do.

He said: 'It's not an anti-political thing. It's not a money thing. She's just trying to do the right thing, and that takes guts.'

A former employee of the National Restaurant Association Education Fund, Ms Bialek told a press conference in New York yesterday that when she went to Mr Cain for  advice on finding a new job in July 1997, he 'put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals. He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch'.

Herman Cain's campaign immediately released a statement saying the allegations were untrue and the embattled nominee appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night saying he was going to come out fighting.

'I was listening very closely and then when it was all over with, I said, well I know what we got to do because there's not an ounce of truth in all of these accusations and my team is putting this stuff together.

'That is why I'm willing to do a press conference tomorrow to set the record straight. I'm in it to win it and I'm not going to be discouraged.'

Meanwhile, a friend of Ms Bialek, from Chicago, told the New York Post: 'She has a very infectious personality. It's easy to see how she won [Cain] over. But the reality of her situation is -- she's a complete gold digger. It's all about the money.'

Adding that she was from a middle-income family but lives in a posh house while running from bill collectors, the source said: 'Most of her jobs ended in termination. It's always the employer's fault, not hers.

'This is a lady who lives off the system. She is hellbent on finding a way of never having to work and living the lifestyle she wants to live, a very affluent lifestyle.'

Meanwhile, a fifth woman has come out to talk about some suspect activity at the hands of Cain.

cain on jimmy kimmel

Former employee of the United States Agency for International Development Donna Donella, 40, from Arlington, said the Republican presidential candidate asked her to help arrange a dinner date for him with a female audience member following a speech he delivered nine years ago.

She told the Washington Examiner: 'After the seminar was over. Cain came over to me and a colleague and said, "Could you put me in touch with that lovely young lady who asked the question, so I can give her a more thorough answer over dinner?"'

When she declined to saying she didn't feel comfortable doing it, he then invited her to dinner. She accepted and brought two colleagues with her.

Though she said Cain exhibited no inappropriate sexual behavior during the dinner, he did order two $400 bottles of wine and left the women with the bill.

Details of a number of legal and financial difficulties  belonging to Ms Bialek also emerged today, with the Chicago Tribune listing a long history with tax evasion and late or missed credit card payments.
The paper reported that Ms Bialek has filed for personal bankruptcy twice, first in 1991 and then again in 2001.

In 2001, she claimed $5,700 in assets and more than $36,000 in liabilities. Among the creditors seeking payment was a management firm demanding back rent of $4,500, four credit card companies and a lawyer asking for his legal fees.

She is also said to have accused a former boyfriend of harassing her for money he had loaned her after she borrowed $4,500 from him.

The IRS filed a tax lien against her in 2009 for nearly $5,200. In August, the Illinois Department of Revenue claimed Ms Bialek owed the state more than $4,300, including penalties and interest, relating to income taxes from 2004, according to county records.

sharon on piers morgan

Court records also show creditors took legal action against her during the past decade, including at least one lawsuit filed in Cook County.

But Mark Harwood, a corporate executive in the medical equipment industry, denied she had any financial difficulties and claimed he supports her so she can look after her 13-year-old son.

Her father, Chester Bialek, said he did not know about his daughter's allegation until Monday and said that though he was surprised, he is supporting her decision to come forward.

A Fox News reporter confronted Ms Bialek during an interview today about living in the same building as Obama top aid David Axelrod.

She was asked: 'One of the things is that you lived at a 505 North Lake Shore Drive apartment, right? This is the same building, it happens to be the same building David Axelrod lives in. Do you know David Axelrod? Ever have any interaction with him at all?'

From a release/email:

... In stark contrast to Mr. Cain's four decades spent climbing the corporate ladder rising to the level of CEO at multiple successful business enterprises, Ms. Bialek has taken a far different path.
The fact is that Ms. Bialek has had a long and troubled history, from the courts to personal finances - which may help explain why she has come forward 14 years after an alleged incident with Mr. Cain, powered by celebrity attorney and long term Democrat donor Gloria Allred.

In the courts, Ms. Bialek has had a lengthy record in the Cook County Court system over various civil lawsuits. The following cases on file in Cook County are:

They've finally brought forth a female face with a name and a narrative to nail Herman Cain. HERMAN CAIN ACCUSER FILED COMPLAINT IN NEXT JOB

A woman who settled a sexual harassment complaint against GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain in 1999 complained three years later at her next job about unfair treatment, saying she should be allowed to work from home after a serious car accident and accusing a manager of circulating a sexually charged email, The Associated Press has learned.

Karen Kraushaar, 55, filed the complaint while working as a spokeswoman at the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the Justice Department in late 2002 or early 2003, with the assistance of her lawyer, Joel Bennett, who also handled her earlier sexual harassment complaint against Cain in 1999.

Three former supervisors familiar with Kraushaar's complaint, which did not include a claim of sexual harassment, described it for the AP under condition of anonymity because the matter was handled internally by the agency and was not public.

HERMAN CAIN: I'D TAKE LIE DETECTOR TEST TO REBUT SHARON BIALEK CLAIMS

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Tuesday that he would be willing to take a lie detector test to rebut multiple claims that he engaged in sexual harassment in the 1990s, though he seemed to stop short of promising to do so.

"Yes. I absolutely would," Cain said when asked about taking a test. "But I'm not going to do that unless I have a good reason to do that. Of course I would be willing to do a lie detector test."

HERMAN CAIN, MEET SAMUEL YETTE

In January of this year, an African-American man living out his life in a Maryland nursing home succumbed to Alzheimer's disease. Because he was not a sports hero or a member of America's brain-dead entertainment industry, the nation barely noted either his life or his passing.

His name was Samuel Frederick Yette. Born into the segregated South in 1929, Mr. Yette earned a bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University and a master's from Indiana University. Then, following his U.S. Air Force service in the Korean War, he became an award-winning journalist who worked for several newspapers and magazines. In 1964, he was appointed Executive Secretary of the Peace Corp after which he became Special Assistant for Civil Rights to the Director of the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity. He later became a civil-rights commentator for both BET and PBS and he finished his working life as a lecturer and a professor at Howard University.

THE CONSERVATIVE CASE FOR MITT ROMNEY

I love Herman Cain: I applauded Rick Perry's entry into the presidential race. But if conservatives really want to roll back government, keep America out of new and far more dangerous foreign wars, generate new jobs and save the country from total financial ruin, they have only one realistic option: Rally behind Mitt Romney.

How can I say this right after the revered George Will scathingly dismissed Romney as a flip-flopper and a "pretzel candidate?"

As the Iowa caucuses grow near, an influential grassroots conservative says he believes Mitt Romney's nomination as the GOP general election candidate is inevitable, and that Romney will ultimately lose to President Obama a year from now.

Erick Erickson, the founder of the RedState blog and a CNN contributor, wrote a lengthy post on blog Tuesday that was one part indictment, one part lamentation, as it laid bare, yet again, the deep fissure of mistrust that divides Romney from some conservatives. And at times it read as much as a surrender as a call to arms.

RICK PERRY STUMBLED BADLY IN LAST NIGHT'S GOP DEBATE

Texas Gov. Rick Perry suffered from a severe case of brain freeze on stage at the ninth Republican presidential debate in Michigan on Wednesday night -- forgetting which federal agencies he would cut if elected president.

While answering a question about the federal tax code, Perry announced that he would eliminate three agencies.

"It's three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, education and ..." Perry said before an exceedingly long, awkward pause.

Finally a rival tried to come to the rescue. "The EPA?" former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney chimed in.

"There you go," Perry said before admitting that that was not the one he had intended. Moderator John Harwood interjected, saying, "Seriously?"

"No sir," Perry replied.

"But you can't name the third one," Harwood persisted. Perry then tried again.

"Education, commerce and the third ... " After another incredibly long pause he gave up. "I can't," Perry said. "Oops."

I'm just wondering why so few of them are doing anything to build the kingdom.

This question comes up for me after learning that HarperCollins Publishers, a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, has acquired the largest Christian publishing company in the world - Thomas Nelson Inc.

10 REASONS CHRISTIANS SHOULD REJECT ROMNEY

We've all heard the controversy about presidential candidate Mitt Romney's faith. Is he a Christian? He claims to be, yet 75 percent of American Protestant pastors disagree with the statement: "I personally consider Mormons to be Christians." Wherever you stand, here are the top 10 reasons Christians can never vote for Mitt Romney - and they have nothing to do with his Mormon faith.

1.    Romney forced homosexual marriage upon Massachusetts.

When the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decided in 2003 to recognize homosexual "marriage," ignoring the voters and the Constitution, the court admitted it did not have power to issue licenses or force participation by justices of the peace to solemnize the weddings.

But as governor, Romney didn't wait for the legislature to act, he just ordered the marriage licenses and weddings to go forward, all by himself. Earlier this month, Romney said in New Hampshire, "What I would support [nationwide] is letting people who are of the same gender form - if you will - partnership agreements."

And despite the over 2,500 pedophilia cases now on record involving homosexual Scout leaders, Romney once stated, "I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation."

Kasey Landrum was censured by the principal at Lexington High School in Tennessee after being told he had violated the school's dress code.

'The principal walked into the school and immediately started yelling at me for it, and told me to get outside,' Kasey told WBBJ-TV.

He said he did exactly as Steve Lindsey demanded without a reply but that another student who witnessed the incident and stuck up for Kasey was issued a one-day suspension for speaking out.

The next day Kasey was called into the office and given the in-school suspension for violating the dress code which states: 'When a student is attired in a manner, which is likely to cause disruption or interference with normal operation of the school, the administration will take the appropriate action.
'In matters of opinion, the judgment of the teachers and administrators will prevail.'

Henderson County Superintendent Steve Wilkinson said he did not know what disruption the make-up would have caused but added that the principal had the authority to determine what is deemed a distraction.

Today at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday Americans watching television or listening to the radio will see and hear a familiar sounding message: "This is a test of the Emergency Alert System. This is only a test...."

This 30-second audio tone and message will sound like emergency test messages that local television and radio stations have broadcast for nearly 50 years. But Wednesday's test will be the first time the federal Emergency Alert System - a last resort means for the president to address the country in a national emergency - has been tested on a national basis.

AIR FORCE MISHANDLED REMAINS OF WAR DEAD, PROBE FINDS

The former mortuary commander and two other senior officials have been disciplined - but not fired - in response to separate investigations conducted by the Air Force Inspector General, the Secretary of the Air Force and the Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency that also received the whistleblower complaints.

LESLEY STAHL OF CBS NEWS GETS 'JACKED' ON '60 MINUTES'

Jack Abramoff, onetime power broker for the elite of Washington, D.C., is holding no punches in exposing corruption on Capitol Hill and warning it may run deeper and wider than most Americans can even imagine.

"People are under the impression that the corruption only involves somebody handing over a check and getting that favor, and that's not the case," Abramoff told CBS's Lesley Stahl. "The bribery, call it, because ultimately that's what it is, that's what the whole [lobbying] system is ... it is done every day, and it is still being done.

WH'S DALEY DEMOTED WEEKS AFTER SAYING HE'LL LEAVE IN 2012

William M. Daley was hired to help resuscitate Barack Obama's presidency after deep Democratic losses in 2010. Ten months into his tenure as chief of staff, Mr. Daley's core responsibilities are shifting, following White House missteps in the debt-ceiling fight and in its relations with Republicans and Democrats in Congress.

On Monday, Mr. Daley turned over day-to-day management of the West Wing to Pete Rouse, a veteran aide to President Obama, according to several people familiar with the matter. It is unusual for a White House chief of staff to relinquish part of the job.

CLINTON: PRESIDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SERVE A THIRD TERM

Former President Bill Clinton tells MSNBC's "Morning Joe" he thinks presidents should be able to serve more than two terms. Transcript:

JOE SCARBOROUGH, HOST: "So we talked a couple years ago and I asked you a question at the end about whether guys like you should be able to run again because I will guarantee you, we will get back to the office and we will be flooded with e-mails and responses on twitter, people will say 'Why can't this guy run for president in 2012?' And of course you can't because Republicans didn't want there to be another FDR back in the 1940s. But shouldn't it though, shouldn't a president be able to take two terms, take some time off and then run again? Shouldn't Americans have that choice?"

FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON: "Yes, I do. I believe that should be the rule. And I think as a practical matter, you couldn't apply to anyone whose already served. But if going forward, I personally believe that should be the rule."
