Smartphone applications that focus on the home and garden are becoming increasingly popular. See some below that could make painting and gardening easy and fun to plan.

Smartphone apps for the home & garden

There are many interesting phone applications out there that can help you manage your home and garden. The New York Times profiled 20 smartphone apps that can do everything from recognize colors in a photograph and match it to a paint chip, to functioning as a bubble level.
  • Take a photo using your phone's camera and the Ben Color Capture app (from Benjamin Moore paint) will analyze the colors in the photo and match it to the closest paint chip available. The ColorSnap app from Sherwin-Williams paint analyzes photos the same way and it also offers suggested colors for trim.
  • iHandyCarpenter functions as a bubble level to ensure surfaces are flat. 
  • Plan your perfect garden with Eden Garden Designer and select plants by color, sun exposure, height and other factors.
