Driving your car with your head turned backwards to see where you've been probably isn't the best or safest way to get to where you want to go. Similarly, trying to move forward with your life while hanging onto your past will cause you to waste precious time and energy, energy you need everyday to see the unlimited possibilities that stand before you, just waiting to be explored.
Because we are human, our pasts are filled with the consequences of the choices we made, that from today's vantage point, we wish we never had. Like having a backpack full of bricks, guilt is a heavy burden to carry, and always limits our progress. Guilt will always cause us to find a way to punish ourselves, or at the very minimum cause us to feel undeserving of happiness today. Holding back forgiveness of ourselves for our "high crimes and misdemeanors" might be because we think that doing so would condone our past actions. But self-forgiveness for all of those choices, generated by an authentic feeling of compassion towards ourselves is the first step in becoming free to be here now.
Could've, would've, should've. These thoughts lead to regret, another negative energy that impedes our progress. The path to self-discovery is a journey, never a straight shot. Journeys can have roads that twist and turn and lead down many dark alleys, yet if today you can look back at the choices that you made and understand that in some way you learned a lesson in that choice, then all is not lost! We are here for the lessons, that is how we grow.
As much as we would love to go back and have a chance for a re-do, some will say that if all of the circumstances were lined up exactly like they were, we would do it again! That is why if you feel bad about some of the choices you made, it is because you have evolved.
When driving a car, rather than focusing on the rear view mirror, or looking too far down the road, it's much better to pay attention to what is going on at the present time. Same with life. Forgive yourself and let your past go. Don't worry too much about the future, and keep your attention in the present moment. Focus on today and all of the choices you get to make now! So take your PAST and put it into the God Box, and do not take it back. If you don't know what a God Box is, click here to read my March 2012 newsletter
"I have learned, that the person I have to ask for forgiveness from the most is: myself. You must love yourself. You have to forgive yourself, everyday, whenever you remember a shortcoming, a flaw, you have to tell yourself "That's just fine". You have to forgive yourself so much, until you don't even see those things anymore. Because that's what love is like." C Joybell

 THE FLU SEASON
Not very long after summer turns to fall, it is announced that it's time to prepare for the flu season. It's like we have 5 seasons. Summer, winter, spring, fall, and flu. What actually constitutes the onset of flu season? The colder weather? Is it true that the flu virus "arrives" here on a particular day? Where did it fly in from? Does it follow a world wide itinerary? When it is "announced" that it's here, is that our cue that it's time to run to the local CVS for shots and to stock up on flu medicine? Our thoughts create our reality. Wouldn't it be better to focus our thoughts on staying well rather than becoming ill?Why is there never a flu season in the summer? What differentiates summer from winter is sunlight. Truth be told, infectious flu viruses are here 12 months a year. Flu viruses don't go on world wide tours like rock stars. People CAN get the flu in the summer, but they generally don't. Why? Sunlight. Remember that sunlight increases our Vitamin D production, and it has been scientifically proven that having a therapeutic level of Vitamin D is protective of not just the flu, but cancer as well.
People who live in the tropics rarely if ever get the flu. What is called the flu season is typically the time we are not in the sun as much, and inside, crowded together more. Want to stay healthy during the flu season? Make sure your Vitamin D level is above 50. Many people who take Vitamin D3 never bother to get their level checked. Aim for a level between 50 to 60. I don't take the flu lightly. I certainly don't want it or wish it on anyone. Statistics show that flu (or complications from the flu) kill people every year. There are typically 300 million cases of flu yearly worldwide, leading to 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths worldwide. That is a mortality rate of 0.12%. But stop and compare that with deaths as a result of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes and pulmonary disease, not to mention iatrogenic (death at the hands of the healthcare system). Millions of people die every year from illnesses that might have been prevented via improved nutrition and lifestyle. Stay healthy not just during the flu season but for all seasons by improving your nutrition, taking adequate amount of Vitamin D, and committing to putting your health at the top of your to do list.

A NOTE FROM THE UNIVERSE
"Of course, you can't control other people. Not even a little, not a smidge. Every man and woman is their own sailing vessel powered by their own thoughts, emotions and imagination. You can't improve their smile, nor add to their woes, unless, at some level they let you.
So, does that pretty much clear up the effect others can have on you? ~The Universe

Learn the Basics of EFT - Meridian Tapping
The Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT is a powerful self-help tool based on Traditional Chinese Medicine for releasing negative emotions and limiting beliefs.
Most of us are plagued by old stuck energy patterns . We habituate to these patterns automatically. It's the way our brains work. Unfortunately until we learn how to release these old patterns, trying to enact positive change will be difficult and leaves us feeling frustrated.
EFT works like emotional acupressure to quickly, gently and and easily remove the negative emotions and beliefs that are at the root of our problems and pain.
As a nurse and EFT practitioner, I will teach you how you can use EFT on yourself and others to help you attain management of your emotions, freeing you from the stress and anxiety that stand between you and your happiness. EFT has a proven 90% success.

It is my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright. We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you to pick up the map to find your way back. And I'll help you anyway I can. "If you want to know the quality of what you radiate, just observe how people respond to you. They are your mirror." Gary Craig.
