The Last Stop for Health Care Reform Contact Your Congressman Now and Ask them to Vote No!
Greetings!, | President Obama and his congressional leaders have launched an all-out push to
enact a health care restructuring bill that, among other things,
contains sweeping pro-abortion provisions.For their
plan to be successful, the Senate health care bill must pass the House over the opposition of Rep. Bart Stupak and his pro-life colleagues. Recent news has indicated that this vote could be as early as the end of this week! We feel confident that all the members of Louisiana's House Delegation will oppose the legislation, but we need your help to remind them of the importance of their "no" vote. Please use the links below to find your Congressman's phone numbers and call to encourage them to oppose the health care bill.
Remind them that this legislation will lead to the greatest expansion
of abortion since Roe v. Wade in 1973. Steve Scalise (CD-1) Joseph Cao (CD-2) Charlie Melancon (CD-3) John Fleming (CD-4) Rodney Alexander (CD-5) Bill Cassidy (CD-6) Charles Boustany (CD-7)If you have friends or family out of state, please encourage them to contact their Congressmen and ask them to stand with Stupak. We are very excited to be running a great piece of pro-life legislation in this upcoming state legislative session (begins March 29) called the "Ultrasound Before Abortion" bill. We expect to be releasing public information on it within the next week! The photo below shows myself with Senator Sharon Weston Broome (sponsor of the legislation) and Dorinda Bordlee (legal expert with the Bioethics Defense Fund) as we clarified details on the bill. Students for Life Spreading the Message of Life in Louisiana this Spring! The photo above shows a "Cemetery of the Innocents" as presented by Tulane Students for Life this past Friday.
This Spring, Tulane and Southeastern University Students for Life have presented this dramatic display in the middle of their campuses. In the Cemetery of the Innocents, 4000 pink and blue flags are placed in a central quad to represent the number of innocent children lost everyday to abortion. At both schools, students were faced with the facts of abortion.
In addition, Loyola University Students for Life and Tulane SFL will both be holding "Pregnancy Resource Forums" on their campus to discuss whether their campuses offers the resources pregnant and parenting students need, such as daycare, changing tables, etc.
