Happy Mother's Day!
May marks the month that we honor mothers across the world, and we do love all of our clients who are mothers. I lost my own dear one about 18 months ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of her, often with a smile. She made me laugh like no one else.
This month we will be participating in the first annual Chantilly Day, sponsored by the Dulles Chamber of Commerce. The event is all day (9:00am to 6:00pm), Saturday, May 12, and will be held along Metrotech Drive. The Dulles Chamber of Commerce selected WFCM as Small Nonprofit of the Year and will hold an awards ceremony that day at 11:30. Come by and see us at our booth, and pick up a coupon for the store! We are also busily collecting coins through our Bread and Water Campaign throughout this month. If your church or business did not have an opportunity to participate in this fundraiser, please contact Jennie Bush, as there is still time!
Finally, we are so grateful for the many individuals, churches and businesses who regularly donate to our food pantry. The shelves are starting to look bare as we approach summer, and we need additional food drives. We have hired a summer intern, sponsored by ExxonMobil Summer Jobs Program, to help coordinate those summer drives, so please contact us if you can help! You can reach the food pantry by calling (703) 988-9656, extension 103.
God bless you,
Melissa M. Jansen

Fruits of the Spirit
A thoughtful donor purchased beautiful navel oranges and bosc pears recently. Needless to say, the fruit was a delightful gift. In Galatians 5:22, the Word of God says, "The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control." Thanks to the Lord who fills both our earthly and spiritual needs!

WFCM's "A Team"
Judy and Pat Archer, a fabulous mother-daughter team, work enthusiastically together in the Food Pantry stocking food on Tuesday mornings. Judy says, "We've done so much together...working in stores and fraternal organizations. We even had t-shirts made, calling us the `A Team'." Pat says, "I love this place. I would come here more days if I could."
