Donate to Out & Equal
Through Combined Federal Campaign
Out & Equal was notified last month that the organization has been accepted to participate in the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars. Donations made by federal civilian, postal and military employees during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th each year) support eligible nonprofit organizations, like Out & Equal, that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. It is the only authorized solicitation of federal and military employees on behalf of charitable organizations.
How can you make a difference?

London? It Was Great!
Hundreds Gather at the Global LGBT Workplace Summit
Over 350 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) global executives, leaders and allies gathered in London earlier this month to plan strategies to advance global workplace equality at Out & Equal's 2012 Global LGBT Workplace Summit.
Out & Equal Founding Executive Director, Selisse Berry, with Martina Navratilova and Out & Equal Board Members
The conference brought together global executives and leaders from more than 26 countries, representing more than 80 different corporations, organizations and government agencies, to share their best practices and ideas for creating workplaces where LGBT people are safe, accepted, and valued. Held in London's Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, the Summit offered rich learning opportunities for participants in four general sessions, two dozen workshops and a Gala dinner.
Out & Equal would like to thank all of our sponsors, partners, friends, attendees, speakers and presenters for helping make this event so successful!

What Do You Need to Know? Current LGBT Research Efforts
Thursday, July 26, 2012 - 12 pm Pacific Time
1 pm Mountain | 2 pm Central | 3 pm Eastern
Metrics are the key to business success. Whether it is market shares or research, the numbers give us an indicator of where we are now and what impact the work we do with LGBT Workplace equality has on such things as engagement, best practices and developing trends. Join our Out & Equal Town Call in July to discuss two key resources that can be used to build your business case. Join us as we discuss the impact and scope of the LGBT research being done by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). These researchers are examining many different topics related to the LGBT community including the recent study that was featured in the Out & Equal Training Monthly Newsletter on the effects of myths and stereotypes on the relationships and perceptions of other employees.
In the second half of the call, we will be looking at an update from the LGBT Voluntary Self Identification Community of Practice (CoP) and what advances have been made since the original report was issued in 2009. An update survey on what companies are doing is currently underway and the CoP will report on the early data that has come in. You can participate in this survey here. We will also discuss the need for Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and Human Resources professionals (HR) to present evidence based materials to management to make a change in the climate and workplace for LGBT employees!
