The merry month of May brings the most glorious of weather, so my best recommendation to improve your health would be to go out and enjoy the weather. However this month's newsletter will focus on a few important practicalities.
My IT man Dan alerted me to the fact that come July 9th many people may not be able to connect to internet. Take a simple test to determine if your computer is affected by devious malware.
Cell phones. Pretty much everyone has one. If you were an EMT coming to the aid of the wounded, would you know who to call among the long list of telephone numbers? A spoon full of. . .nope, not honey, but olive oil and lemon juice. This combo provides incredible benefits for the whole body when taken on a daily basis. |
DNS Changer Malware
|
Dan says: When you're on your computer and type in a website like diamondstoneom.com, there are machines called DNS servers which translate that name to a numerical address and allow your browser to find and display the website.
The FBI recently broke up a criminal ring which infected thousands of computers with malware that changed the DNS servers used by the infected computers from legitimate ones to some that were controlled by the criminals. These rogue DNS servers would then direct traffic to spam sites.
After the criminals were arrested, the FBI and private sector worked to set up provisional DNS servers that would allow infected computers to continue accessing the Internet after the rogue DNS servers were shut down. However, as of July. 2012, those provisional servers will be shut down, so anyone with an infected computer will no longer be able to access any website on the Internet.
To check if your computer is infected with this malware, called DNS Changer, go to this website: http://www.dns-ok.us/ . If your computer is clean, you will get a green box. If your computer is infected, go to this page for instructions on how to fix the problem: http://www.dcwg.org/fix/

In Case of Emergency (ICE)
|
Cell phones keep us connected to our people at all times except for when it might matter most.
I recently read an article that expressed the frustration of many emergency medical technicians (EMTs) that locate a phone on the person that they're helping, but then have no idea who among the long list of phone numbers they should call.
Most phones have ICE (in case of emergency) listed at the top of the phone list. Please take a few moments to fill in your emergency contact information - just in case.

A Spoon Full of. . .
|

This tip is brought to you by Diane Rother of North Star Wisdom. Diane is who I go see for breast thermography and health education. She shared this tip at a recent visit to her office.
On a daily basis take 1 tablespoon of olive oil with 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice - basically a vinaigrette to obtain all of these benefits:
Dissolves plaque in arteries
Improved mineral absorption Improved hormonal absorption Provides omega 3s and 6s in balance Gentle cleanse for the liver and gall bladder (can help prevent certain gall stones and resolves existing stones if taken regularly for 1 year)
Triggers the liver to produce amino acids which activate the pancreas to produce enzymes - thus improving digestion
I don't know about you, but that's an awful lot of benefits for just a spoonful of vinaigrette! Cheers to EVOO and fresh lemon juice!
Note: Fresh lemon juice must be used because bottled lemon juice has been pasteurized and doesn't confer any benefits. Extra-virgin olive oil is universal for all blood types.
