Community Garden gets Face-Lift!The members of the Kansas City, KS Community College's Economics Club believe in community outreach and have overseen a
downtown community garden known as Strawberry Fields Community Garden
(loacated
at 419 N. 7th Street). As a group effort, several improvements have been made to the garden recently. KCKCC Technical Educational Center's Dean, Hasan Naima, stepped up to the plate
and assisted the students in getting their first delivery of organic dirt to the garden. The Economics Club also purchased lumber and built new
raised beds. Miller Sign Company freshened up their sign that had
faded over the last four seasons. Carole Diehl of Strawberry Hill
Homeowner's Association purchased fencing and Jack Capehart's YouthBuild K.C.K. installed new fencing. Great
community building! Please go by and see how beautiful the space looks.
