Greetings!

I'm not a big fisherman. I think it's because I've never cared for worms very much, which probably stems back to my brother chasing me with them as we waited for the school bus. However, as I've been out on the Fox River Trail the past couple weeks I've been gazing at the people fishing from their boats and contemplating the appeal. Is it the quiet calm as they wait?  Is it the anticipation of hooking a 'big one'? Is it dinner and the need to cut the food budget?

When I saw the title of Pastor Greg's sermon for this Sunday, "Are You Fishing On The Right Side Of The Boat?" based on John 21: 1-14, it brought all those people I've been gazing at to mind. Now I have new questions, such as, "Is there a right and a wrong side of the boat?" and "How do they know which is the right side?" And while my question tends to be rather literal, I'm looking forward to hearing what Pastor Greg has to say on the topic because he always puts a fresh perspective on things for me to ponder.

Who knows, maybe I'll even overcome my dislike of worms.

See you in church, I'll save you a seat.

Connecting Couples Go on Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Invite your friends
Sunday, April 18th at 5:30*

(*Note: 5:30 is a time change so we can have our yoga and scavenger too, which is very similar to having our cake and eating it too, only different)

Connecting Couples will be meeting on Sunday, April 18th at 5:30 for a really cool Scavenger Hunt. We'll solve the clues, chase down the place or object, snap a digital photo, and race on to the next. (Within the legal limits of the law of course!)

Points will be awarded for originality, creativity, and quantity found, among others. We will finish at a final "secret" meeting place to share our finds and vote on the winners while we get a bite to eat.

Be sure to invite another couple (all ages welcome!), think of a great name for your team and plan on a fun-filled evening solving the clues and chasing down the "elusive."

Childcare is available here at church provided by New Hope's youth, if needed.

RSVP to Patti  as soon as possible, especially if child care is needed.

Do You Want To Be A Fruit?
Only 6 weeks until shorts season! Do yours fit?
What day is convenient for you?  Cast your vote

Holy catfish, there are only 6-weeks left until shorts season is officially upon us!  Have you been thinking about making some healthy changes in your eating and exercise habits but really need the support of a group to get serious about it? Well New Hope's Fruits & the Spirit group is just the right place for you to discuss healthy eating, moving more and encourage each other along the way.  An optional, private weigh-in and structured food plan are available.

We currently meet on Mondays at noon, but know that may not be convenient for many of you, and want to know if we should change our meeting time. If you'd like to join us and get some support while getting those shorts to fit, follow the link below and let us know when you are available. Please vote by Monday at 11:00 so we can make the change as soon as possible.

Nursery Volunteers Still Needed
A few weeks are still open - we need you!
Sign Up Now to volunteer in May and June

We will be offering nursery at both the 9:00 and 10:30 services starting in May to allow everyone to have the best of both worlds - go to worship AND a bible study, go to worship AND teach Sunday School, go to worship AND volunteer in the nursery.  No one will miss out on anything - it will be GREAT!  Thank you SO much for your willingness to volunteer in this important area at New Hope!
Fun in the nursery
We are trying out a new technology tool to schedule the volunteers for helping.   Click on the scheduling link, enter your name and then pick the dates that work for you; let us know if you'll be taking the 9:00 time slot, the 10:30 slot, or both.  We hope this electronic version will make it easier for you to look at your calendars and pick convenient dates.

Many, many thanks to Nancy Hamann who has made a bo-jillion phone calls over the past 3+ years making sure we have nursery volunteers. Thanks Nancy!
