Mark Dvorak is a modern day troubadour who has never stopped
performing, writing and recording.
He has been called a folk singer's
folk singer who has an encyclopedic knowledge of traditional songs. His
songwriting has been called "wondrous" and "profound." Mark stops in Ludington after gigs in Muskegon, South Haven and Cincinnati -- thanks, Mark! Click here for a preview of Mark's music.
Kids (5-15) are invited to a free workshop with Mark at 2:00 pm. Dvorak, a faculty member at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music, shares stories, explores different instruments, looks at what makes a folk song a folk song, and engages the kids in singing together.
At 7:30 pm, Mark performs in the gallery: $12 admission; $10 for seniors (60 and over).

American with roots in folk, bluegrass, and traditional country. Ruth
& Max Bloomquist's acoustic Americana is the stuff of rustic
romantic dreams. Ruth's songwriting and rich alto voice combined with
their blend of harmony, guitar and upright bass draw the listener
straight to the heart of every song. The musical duo hails from West
Michigan and have played throughout the midwest and southern U.S., but

Tuesday, November 10, 7 pm. West Side Writers' Gang. This is a new group for writers of all experience levels and genres. Click here for more information.
Thursday, November 12, 6 pm. Volunteer potluck. Film Committe Chair, Jim Stewart, will be giving an update. All volunteers invited to bring their favorite dish to pass and enjoy hearing about events and volunteer opportunities at the Center.
Friday, November 13, 6-9pm. A Silent Art Auction to raise
money for students with developmental disabilities. Organized by Shelby
and Laurie Soberalski.
Saturday, November 14, 9-noon. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement/Creative Art Workshop - led byJudith Dila, Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and artist Alayne Speltz (President of the West Shore Art League). Call or email Judith (510-5800) for more information or to register.
