Pugs of the Month
Snickers and Chuckie

Snickers and Chuckie are a bonded pair who had to be surrendered by their mommy when she went into a nursing home. Snickers is eight years old and Chuckie is four. Don't let Snicker's age fool you, she loves to play and is a joy to watch. They use a dog door, love cats and play all day with a kitten. They are looking for family to love and spend the rest of their life with. Snickers and Chuckie are just as sweet as can be, house trained and ready and eager to start their new life. It is difficult to find a home for a pair and even more difficult when one or both are older. We desperately want these two sweet pugs to find a forever family and will lower the adoption fee if we find the right family. If you have been thinking about bringing two pugs into your home, please consider this sweet pair. For more information please contact Gail Tucker or fill out an application. |

May
This event benefits over 20 rescues. Drop by and say hi to Gail and the pugs. Sadly, Gail didn't volunteer for the dunk tank but there will also be dog wash stations, groomers, Big Truck Tacos, local artists and bands, raffles, the Ice Cream Lady and kid friendly activities. I'm not sure if the Ice Cream Lady is a sideshow freak or if she just sells ice cream. Guess you will just have to come see for yourself! |
Pupdate
Eli
Most of you remember our sweet Eli who was born with luxating patellas. Well, because of your generous donations we were able to begin his surgeries. The first surgery took place March 4th and Gail is happy to announce it was a success! Dr. Skip Tanger of Veterinary Surgical Center is confident that Eli will recover nicely. As you can tell by the photo the incision has healed beautifully and once his fur grows back you will never be able to tell he had surgery. Eli will be on crate rest for 8 weeks and then taken back to have surgery on his other leg. It will be a long road to recovery but well worth it to see sweet Eli running and playing pain free. |
Happy Tails
Gladys and Emma

Gladys was adopted by the Ludwig's after considering whether the time was right and if Gladys was the right pug for their family. We believe the photo says it all! It is not easy for some of our pugs to be moved from foster home to foster home, but in some cases it is necessary. When they do finally go to their forever home some pugs are hesitant to connect and trust. In Gladys' case it took several days to absorb it all before she began to join the Ludwig's as part of their family. It is like watching a flower bloom as more and more of Gladys' personality shines through. Stories like Gladys and the Lugwig's is what makes rescue worth while!~ Mary, HWB Wisconson |
