Homeward Bound has been working with a lady for several weeks on an owner surrender. We were told that she had to move and couldn't take her pug with her. We were also told that the pug was a seven year old black female in perfect health.

Poor little Meeka is the supposedly healthy pug we picked up. She has a horrible skin condition and is scratching herself raw. Also, several of her toenails are curled into her pads, making it difficult and painful to walk.

We immediately gave her a medicated bath and some food which she graciously ate. It will take months to get her coat in shape but we know with love, good food and proper vet care she will once again be as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Despite her neglect she wags her little tail as if to say, "Thank you for helping me".
