Winter is for the Birds!
Saturday, November 27 1:00PM-2:30PM
Members: $10/family
Non-members: $20/family
Would you like to make your yard more wildlife-friendly? Does it really matter what birdseed mix you use? Join us for this family workshop to learn about the food, water and habitat needs of our feathered friends. We'll wrap up the workshop by making a wood and Plexiglas bird feeder to take home. The program fee includes 1 bird feeder kit per family. Additional kits will be available for purchase the day of the workshop at $6 each.
Holiday Wreath Workshop
Sunday, November 28 2:00PM-4:00PM
Members: $15/family
Non-members: $25/family
Start the winter season with a homemade wreath! We'll start with a pre-made balsam wreath and use natural items (pine cones, berries) and holiday elements (ribbon, ornaments) to craft your family's one-of-a-kind seasonal decoration. The program fee includes 1 balsam wreath per family. Additional undecorated wreaths will be available the day of the workshop for $10 each.

Buttonwood Park Zoo Animal Poetry Contest: Animals of the Wildlife Carousel Deadline: Thursday, November 11 at 5:00PM
The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society invites students in grades 4, 5, and 6 to write a poem about one of the animals featured on our new Wildlife Carousel. The poem can be about the carousel animal itself or the real animal it represents. Poems can address any aspect of the animal, for example: how it looks, acts, sounds or why it is important to the environment, or why you like it so much, etc. Read more. Buttonwood Park Zoo is thrilled to host its fourth annual Merry TubaChristmas concert. Get into the spirit like never before with a unique musical experience that's fun for all ages. Listen to your favorite Christmas carols and sing along as local tuba and euphonium players of all ages perform these specially arranged tunes. Be sure to bundle up for this outdoor performance. Buttonwood Park Zoo is open every day (except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day) from 10:00am- 5:00pm. Gates close at 4:30pm.

Fight the Frost Coat Drive
Saturday, Nov. 6 10am - 4pm
Help others in the community by donating your gently used winter coats. Each family that donates a coat will receive a coupon for a free child's admission with a paid adult admission. As part of the coat drive, there will be recycling crafts in the education center. Curbside drop-off will be available in front of the zoo.

Who Likes Pizza?
We do! If you do too, our friends at Piezoni's in North Dartmouth is partnering with the Zoo to help us raise funds for family & educational programming. Join us on Monday, November 29, Tuesday, November 30 or Wednesday, December 1, from 4pm-8pm and 15% of sales will be donated to the Zoo. Piezoni's features pizzas, pastas, calzones, subs, gluten-free options, & more!Try the mixed greens pizza-it's delish!

Boo at the Zoo Update
Buttonwood Park Zoo wrapped up its annual Boo at the Zoo fundraising event on Saturday, October 30, after nine nights of slightly spooky family fun. Thank you to all our visitors who made this fundraiser our best Boo ever!
