Welsh Valley TSA Students Return with More Top 10 Finishes Then Other Middle School Competitors
| Thirty-eight Welsh Valley students returned from the 2011 PA-TSA State Conference with more "Top 10" finishes than any of the other 43 middle school that competed. The team members were called to the stage a total of 40 times which included seven State Championships in the various technology and engineering events. The seven State Championships were also the most earned by any single school.

Mentor Program--Breakfast and Baseball -- Save these Dates May 5th & May 13th
|
Check out pictures from an afternoon of bowling on the LMSD website! Afternoon of Bowling Pictures
The Welsh Valley Mentoring Program recognizes that the transition from elementary to middle school can be challenging, and a time when students begin to make important choices that can influence the rest of their lives. Welsh's program looks beyond the standard student/teacher/parent relationship. Teachers are able to step out of their traditional classroom role and make a difference in the students' emotional and social well-being. All participants in the program (parents, teachers and students) benefit from this unique relationship. Currently, there are 65 students and 42 teachers that participate in the program.
Throughout the year, the program has activities in and out of school. Among the events are a 76ers basketball game (where all participants receive 2 free tickets and transportation to the game); pizza parties at school; a Camden Riversharks' baseball game in May and a summer barbecue in Ardmore.
NEXT EVENTS:
Thursday, May 5th - Breakfast for mentors and mentees. Before school mentees are welcome to join their mentor for breakfast in the Welsh Valley Café. This is always a good time to share stories and have some laughs with one another.
Friday, May 13th - Mentor and Mentees are off to The Camden Riversharks Baseball Game. Game starts at 7:00 PM. Not only will we enjoy the game but the fireworks afterwards!! Transportation will be provided and the cost of the ticket is $6.00 This price includes admission for the mentee and their parent! What a deal!! What a perfect occasion to have mentees, mentors and parents enjoying some time together outside of the school setting.
