Greetings!

Because March is Women's History month, we've decided to change up our storytelling and share the love of great women everywhere. Instead of offering one story of a woman creating change in Maine, we are highlighting one amazing woman (or girl) each day all month! Some are Mainers, some are global. Some are living, others are passed. There are scientists, activists, innovators and business leaders. There are musicians, actors and philanthropists. This list is primarily mine - though a few of you participated in shaping it. Given that there are so many women, and only 31 days, why not join me in this challenge. Post your own list of amazing women - women close to your heart (mothers, coworkers, daughters, sisters), and the women who inspire you from afar. Share your lists on our blog, on Facebook or with your friends. Share the love of great women everywhere.

Also, don't forget that there are a number of March opportunities to join the community in conversation. We're continuing the discussion of Women's Leadership in Lewiston, Bangor, Portland and the Midcoast. This month, the conversation is veering towards stepping into leadership roles, standing out in our way and sustaining our energy. Additionally, at the Spotlight on Philanthropy, we'll be digging into our notions of philanthropy and gearing up for our 2010 grantmaking.

It's a busy month, and we hope you'll join us.

Regards,
Eli
